After due consideration of a number of factors, l have to pull the pin on attending tonight. My back is sore from an early morning run past Byron Bay to take my wife to a job, and l have another driving job tonight. So l will have content myself with listening and posting from the car. Go Bombers!

Looking forward to this one, in particular hoping to see:
- Johnson and Roberts holding their own off the back flanks, providing some good run and disposal
- a strong midfield performance against one of the best (keep atoning for the dogs debacle)
- Small forwards making their defenders at least think about things
- Tsatas showing a real appetite for the defensive side (don’t care about disposal/clearance)
- McGrath blankets Cameron
- Caddy and Wright crack in all night

I would just be happy to see Wright & Caddy stay within 60 metres of goal all night. Create some havoc for the smalls to feed off, especially from any rushed kicks out of the middle.

The Hayes injury actually galls me the most. Right now we’d be absolutely forced to play him. I would have loved to have seen him have half a season to play week in, week out. He would have come on in leaps and bounds in his development.
