At the stoppages with the ruck contested by Gawn and Bellchambers, Melbourne lead the clearances 12-10. At the stoppages with the ruck contested by Gawn and Clarke, Essendon lead the clearances 10-3.

The last ruck contest on the wing that quarter said it all really. Bellchambers walked to the contest causally looking for Gawn. Gawn with his eyes only for the ball attacks it with a run. The result was obvious.

I read the training reports - TBell did the pre-season! He seems unbelievably slow. Hard to fathom. Or is he the best of a bad lot?
Regardless I still think we are in this. Premiership quarter will tell us a lot.

Lots of issuesā¦ but whatever the trucking plan is for that yellow board signā¦ into the cannonā¦ controlling the tempo is a nightmare for a poorly skilled team like oursā¦ Stupid coaching, stupid leadership.
