How they back up next week will be the biggest indicator if weāre really starting to turn the corner.
We almost always sh-t the bed after a good win the last however many years.
seeing Zac Reid line up today was one of the biggest shocks for me. After thinking he would be out for half the season with hamstring awareness Iām so happy for him to be able to back up again today.
Dees clearly put the cue in the rack. Donāt know what you are all so happy about.
Rebuild over ![]()
In the end, the team and a lot of senior players have been badly out of form.
This can happen with a huge number of new players and a period of terrible injuries where thereās no consistency and players drop their heads and lose some confidence.
We are not as bad as the first few weeks of the season.
see this is all some of us ask for, a plan, attempt to execute it, work hard, work hard defensively and we can cop that.
not many would have given them a chance of winning pre game, 2 times parish players, a tall us forwardline, a tall ass backline, soo many midfielders.
but all it took was them to know mcgrath had a role on pickett no matter what, peter wright to go one on one with the most dominate ruckman in the game, and for the last 8 years odd, a plan to chip it around and switch from side to side, and an obviously increased instruction to stay back and keep numbers back.
and look what happens.
probably one of the best wins of the last 10 years, simply due to them putting in the work and planning before the game, and then coming out with a clearer vision and execution of it.
Excellent win. Tough one for the Parish, McKay, Langford, Wright, Scott etc. haters..More please
Just enjoy the win.
wonder how much of their bath water the senior players will drink during the week
Amazing what happens when a gameplan is based around the players we have as opposed to tryjng to force something our players couldnāt do. Seniors set the tempo, then the youngins were allowed to let rip.
Nice feeling again when we win. Missed that.
All of it
If Melbourne can beat Gold Coast, we can.
Iām very happy to break the streak. There were plenty of positive signs for the future and we need to enjoy it. Itās been a while and we deserve it, and obviously so does the team.
But weāve got a long way to go. Letās not get too carried away after one win.
What a perfect combination of the senior players finally standing up, and the kids looking the goods.
I know right. Still half a slab to go and the game is already over!
Green shoots, donāt you mean red shorts?
So who is going to be called the new 2 goals. May or Edwardās.
When was the last time we kicked 17 goals in a game of footy?
