I have never seen a 500 ml bottle of Australia domestic beer. You can buy Crown Lager for US$1.56 , but it is a 385 ml bottle, or a VB stubby even cheaper. 750 ml Carlton draught is about US$5.
Maybe this table is about an American tourist shopping for beer and not someone who is not a wanker.

Plenty of the microbreweries do 500ml bottles, especially for stouts etc. If that’s where they’re getting their stats, I’m not surprised it comes out more expensive.
I dunno, if you do an extrapolation (assuming current exchange rates) it works out per volume to about AU$31 per six pack of 375mL stubbies.
It’s on the pricier end for sure, and unless I was absolutely parched I would not pay that, but it’s not an outrageously ridiculous number. I’d say, what, maybe $22-25 is about average for a six pack of non-craft Australian beer (Carlton Draught or the like).
It’s sort of in the ball park. Beer is definitely expensive in Australia.

I use the nic free stuff to vape socially (yeah its kinda lame i know) its getting harder to find now.
It’s more all the burning of the shops I am against. The rest I concur. I’m not even a smoker.

Depends on the shop. Some are those I frequent for their legit trade.

impossible to get insurance too, if tobacconist is within body corporate.
I hope they factored the price down by 12.3% to account for the volume being 570 ml rather than 500 ml then.
As @Humble_Minion said, if they have used 7.2% craft ales as their price point, then $4.59 for 500 ml would be amazing value - usually don’t get change from $9…
