GFC v EFC rd16 2024 Match Day Thread: Through the Hoops with Hepps

Biggest home and away game involving this club in 20 years.

Forget 2013, that was garbage and we all knew where that was heading.

Tonight, this point of a season, our ladder position, bully boy opposition, not a bigger game we have played in a LONG time.

Gonna need a baby seal in an Ess jumper beating up a Gee player.

I shall wait for your production.

out of all the theme days we are part of, this one is pretty lame

You hear players mention it ad nauseam, about sticking to the process, but the messaging and lessons learnt against the Suns and Blues are never more pronounced than they are today.

Essendon face their bogey team. In the past, they’ve lost the game before the ball is bounced. Cats will come at Essendon hard. Question is, how long can they maintain the rage?

If Essendon are switched on, they’ll win. This game is akin to a final, with the same level of pressure / expectation.

I fully expect the team to treat this game as a final and bring the heat accordingly.

As an aside, was interesting seeing Danger and Holmes came off 1/2 way through the last quarter against the Blues. Clearly, the coach took them off with Essendon in mind.

I’d like your post except it’s not something to like. There should be a disappointment button.

One of Sheedys worst

Today’s weather is why this game should be played at marvel

It’s cringey. Sheedy is the king of cringe.

Tezza please reconsider:

PS the theme does seem to have survived in a smaller form, regional jumpers is part of it this year

I hope we smash them, with Durries dominating playing on Danger, pounding him into submission early and then running off him all night.

I for one hope we take down the global financial crisis tonight

another week and it’s another “big game, gonna tell us a lot about where we are at”

and this one is 200%+ in that category

matching them physically and tactically
playing/adjusting for the conditions and playing smart
reinforcing our ladder position for finals

it’s gong to be a genuine test for us to deal with the above and show where we are at

interesting, you would think hobbs for goldy, though wouldnt caddy have played a half if he wasnt in?

Just win you ■■■■■!
