I had one back in the day. Paragon wide body. Positives: I was very popular with the lads. Negatives: I lost the highest score title on my own machine and couldn’t get it back before it shat itself. Lost a fair bit of confidence over it.
Rolling Stones I think?
Damn I really want a pinball machine. Would keep it in my garage and force the missus to park next to the house.
They tend to bred, I had 7 at one stage down to 3 now, always on the hunt though.
Firepower 1981 first SS multiball
F-14 Tomcat 1987 The pinball that really got me hooked on pinball and shunned video games, I actually bought the one I used to play.
Bram Stoker’s Dracula Pinball 1993 A great mid priced game, difficult and short ball times which is great for home use, awesome sounds.
Nice. My favourites are Adams family, medieval madness and funhouse. I like the Judge Dredd I have and Fishtales. Couldn’t get into 3 d pinnies like revenge from mars. I must admit after this topic I went downstairs and got the glass cleaner out. All back looking pristine.
I still reckon Black Knight is the best pinnie of them all.
Stellar wars would be my pick. Kind of a wider version of Flash which was the all time great machine of it’s time.
Local fish & chip shop had Fishtales for a few months so I gave it a fair crack. They moved on to The Getaway which is close to my favourite along with Indiana Jones. I don’t think I’ve ever played Medieval Madness but I just checked it out - looks good.
Don’t think anybody has mentioned Bump n’ Jump. Not amazing but just a really fun arcade game I played a lot as a kid on holiday at Bermagui in 84. If I wasn’t catching rock cod, freaking out over hammerhead shark weighings, playing beach cricket or being confused af by the interstate Bing Lee ads, I was playing Bump n Jump, Hyperolympics or Roc n Rope, which was hard.
BnJ was underrated too, didn’t have great graphics or sound, wasn’t close to being in anyway realistic or less cartoon unlike any of the Pole Positions but it excelled in exactly what was great about this early wave prior to the 1983 USA console crash, it was ALL about playability and reward. Was also reasonably forgiving, although later arcade games had graphic and sound enhancements at a quantum leap, they could be so unforgiving and too hard to master (scroll beat em ups like POW and shooter Midnight Resistance) at times to convince you to pay the required 60c or dollar.
Sneaks in at 1982 as well.
Yeah love BnJ, interesting fact if you don’t smash any opposition cars (which is what the game makes out you to do) on each level you get rewarded with a 10,000 point bonus.
Its actually gets quite hard trying to avoid the cars so you don’t bump them into the walls.
MM probably the best game ever, my friend has one, MMremake with a coloured screen, he bought it new a couple of years ago.
They should remake Frogger for today’s environment.
Gotta get to the supermarket, avoid the joggers, pet walkers, delivery trucks and Uber eats vehicles.
I was really good at Mr Du. Very good at Punch Out and Pengo.
Circus Charlie was another good game, Yep pretty good at Mr Do myself!

Think I need a pinball machine.

I quite like Taxi.
Are any of the other cheaper ones any good?
No idea on the cheaper ones, but I know I don’t have the $$ for the Indiana Jones one that I now want!
(White water, now there was a forgotten memory!)

Isn’t it Crossy road?
Ahh WW nearly purchased one 10 years ago for around $3000 now going upwards of $6000
Cheaper ones may require a bit of fixing just about all parts are available new. Could be possible to pick up a game like TAXI for around the $2000 mark, the most important thing when buying an old Pinball is the Playfield it’s what you look at, and doing a playfield swap is a big job!
Feel like I need you with me when I make a purchase, like taking Dad to the car dealers.
