Hybrid chipping is the answer!

Hey lads, any one got some suggestions for courses in Adelaide? Got a golf trip there next feb, we’re thinking Lady Links, mount compass, the grange ($$) and one other. Only doing the one expensive course.

Mt Osmond, Blackwood, The Vines of Reynella all quite good. Willunga probably a tier below but a fun course.

Cheers, I’ll check them out.

Is the Pat GC any good?

It’s alright - public course by the airport so can get beaten up a bit. Pretty wide and open so if you’re after an easy going hit then it’ll be fine.

I like the look of Blackwood, one of the lads has floated tanunda pines as apparently it’s close to a winery.

I love a bump and run atm. It has been saving my game. My new driver was dialled in on the front 9, but as soon as I get to the 13th at Queens Park, I slice it straight into the river. Every…single…time.

I got 42 points last week with 3 pick ups. Saying that, my handicap went from 25 to 21.

I played with a mate and his wife a while back. She is only a couple of years in… she putted from 30m off the green when she could (links style course) while we played ā€˜the proper shot’. Scoring would be better putting for sure… probably not as many close but all a show of getting up and down VS fat and skulled chips from us.

6 hybrid, ā€˜chipper’ putter… take what works!

Blackwood would be my pick tbh.

Tanunda is alright and yes close to wineries. Willunga will tick that box too as it’s in the vineyards and a stones throw from McLaren Vale. Depends on where you’re staying and how far you want to travel - Mt Compass and Lady Bay are about 90ish minutes from the CBD.

I think we’ll be staying near westbourne park. So the furthest we’ll have to travell will be about an hour. Thanks for the advice . :+1:

Wow, Oakmont already bearing its teeth. Survival of the Fittest come Sunday.

The 6 inch rough is back. Like an 80s Open.

I’m not sure what kind of person is nostalgic for that sort of thing, but I am not. They usually produce dull winners.

Oakmont is hard enough without being tricked up.

Yeah it’s definitely tough out there. Only 3 players under par. In some ways it’s good to see these players struggle and see who can play the conditions best.

These are scores I can almost relate to!

Good to see Scotty plying well and in the mix.

Adam Scott hanging around. 2 from the lead.

Man this course is boring though (obviously it is very hard but visually just not very interesting).

Now tied for the lead!

Scott heads into the final round in equal 2nd after a 67 (-3). Sam Burns one shot ahead. Still only the 4 players under par for the tournament.
