Stay out of the water!

I tried. But it was everywhere!

Oh I’ve been caught in worse things than that.

I went to Drummond Golf the other day to buy my son some clubs. Whilst he was trying some out on the simulator, I picked up a forged Cobra 7 iron and took a swing. 154m carry….I think I am in love. I would normally hit my cavity back 7 iron about 140m. Should I do it?

Tell them to take the sim off novice setting and try again. :winking_face_with_tongue:

Yeah go on, buy the Cobras!

You should always buy new forged golf clubs, they are a thing of beauty

Or old forged clubs. Or Japanese forged clubs….

I think if I had the money I’d have a serious problem

It did cross my mind whether they had the ā€œslimming mirrorā€ on and I in actual fact didn’t hit it 154m.

Probably had the elevation and climate settings set to peak.

Pretty sure I’m just a gun golfer with the right clubs

Probably wouldn’t include chip in and >30 meters in the humble brag. Maybe add in the exaggerated ā€œspun it back from the back of the green tucked behind an illustrious bunker on firm greensā€.

ā€œoh these, no, I’ve had them for years, just been in (someone believables) garage." ….may not work for a brand new set of TM blades, could conceivably work for an op shop find of a set of 1980s Wilson FG-17s…..

I have never heard of a par 64 golf course.

or I could buy them for her birthday tomorrow and tell her they don’t have a refund policy. ā€œFine, I’ll use them if you don’tā€.

The other thing with this is the launch, spin etc can make a massive difference to the ā€œcarryā€ number without necessarily helping. If you just happen to have been launching them at 5 iron trajectory and spin rates then ā€˜I flew the 7 iron 154ā€ doesn’t mean much.

No, it went extremely high. I tend to release a little early meaning my ball flight is extremely high. This is an issue on windy days. Unfortunately, my old body doesn’t listen to what my brain is telling it.

Simulators, meh.

I say that as somebody who literally works for Trackman.

I’ve been considering buying a home simulator. Living in Melbourne may give me some good use since the weather is crap. Are you suggesting they are not accurate? I’ve heard they are pretty reliable.

That would ā– ā– ā– ā–  me off tbh. I’d rather get a 110m hole in one.
