Very lucky
Could’ve have easily been more spectators sitting there.
Tbh my thought was Augusta said “no reports of injuries” and I thought I wonder how many people they have locked in the dungeon under the clubhouse sitting in front of a team of lawyers with NDAs lined up.
Looks like it’s bucketing down…
Tiger looks like he needs a par on the last to make the cut (pending others going backwards). Has snap hooked it off the tee…
Makes bogey. Needs Thomas or Im to drop a shot over the last 2 to shift the cut line I think…
Thomas has dropped a shot in 17, so barring a birdie on the last, Woods makes the weekend (Thomas has missed the green on 18, and Im looks like making bogey on 17)
Most going backwards this morning, but Smith has back to back birdies on 13 and 15 to get back in the top 20.
The last 2-3 holes got brutally hard at the end there and everyone started stumbling in, except Rahm although he also bogeyed 18. But 18 had more or less turned into a par-five the last hour.
Interesting to see what happens if it stays like this all day.
I watched the end of round 2 last night, tune in this morning to see round 3 called off for the day.
Now what am I meant to do before our game
Mickelson finished on -8 after shooting a brilliant 65 today.
Rahm only 2 ahead with 8 to play.
Who knows ?
Rahm gets the job done. LIV with 3 of the top 5, but Koepka went backwards on Sunday
Koepka forgot how to play 72 holes.
Howdy fellow golfers…looking at a Vic golf trip at some point - my mates have currently selected Moonah links, cape Schanck, st Andrews beach, the dunes - just after some opinions re those courses vs others in the same area?
Would appreciate and locals knowledge re hidden gems etc?
Those are all good options, and all in fairly close proximity, so a good group.
Do you want more?
Thanks! Maybe one more could be added - more so just wanted to check that there wasn’t a lesser known gem that was actually better than those…a couple of other options wouldn’t go astray though just in case.
If you are heading down there add in Rosebud as well
Flinders is a picturesque course.
I think it might be possible to get on Sorrento, which is normally a private course, but might be a bit of a left field option, and having a look perhaps Portsea as well.
Not sure how easy to get on/expensive either would be.
Flinders is fun.
Haven’t played Rosebud, but seems to be worthwhile.
Don’t bother with Eagle Ridge.
As interstate visitors (?) you might also be able to get a tee time at the National with a bit of work if that was something you wanted to put some work into…
Sorrento possibly on Thursdays for green fee of about $125. Very good track always in superb nick.
Bring golf balls
Not really, it’s just not as good as the other options
Played Mornington for the first time on Friday. Hit a 92 which is about par for me but very dirty about losing a ball just left of the fairway on the second hole. The morning glare from the sun was a ■■■■.
The “baymen corner” section of the course is amazing though. Highly recommend.
Also helped that it was $0 due to some reciprocal rights
