Guess the location (a new game)

No, sorry. I have few forays to my home state these days.

No (except that Australia can be considered the world’s largest island)

No - they don’t have as much luxuriant lawn…?

QLD?

Nope. Despite that marvellous blue sky.

WA?

:+1: Gnik has figured out most of my pics are from WA.

Clue: this is the most famous house in this town.

Hmmm.
Albany?

Yes.Now only a small step to the house itself.

OK, you get it.

This was intended to be the WA Governor’s house (hence my remark to THT about being close with his call of Admiralty House in Snydy, but not close geographically). Lately it has been renovated as a boutique hotel and a great place to stay.

For anyone who has not been to Albany, it is a wonderful place to visit. Many great views.

And sadly it was the last place in Australia that too many of our WW1 soldiers ever saw. And Albany does them proud too.

Righto, cheers. Was thinking Governor’s House or similar. Must explore WA.

Where are these gigantic kites being displayed & flown? And for all my remaining Blitzcoins - what is the occasion?

Mexico?

Not this time (we are all getting very familiar with one another’s travels methinks).

Maybe just south of Mexico?
Guatemala?
Day of the Dead?

As a devout contrarian: somewhere in Asia… Bhutan?

You are too good.
The flags give it away somewhat I guess.
Its the cemetery at Santiago Sacatepéquez, Guatemala.

Giant kites are made of papier mache & flown above the graveyard on DotD to communicate with the ancestors. Its a great fiesta. They spend all year making them. Its very competitive. And by the end of the day they are all torn apart.

Thanks - I knew it was something to do with day of the dead but couldn’t remember if it was Mexico or Guatemala.

Someone else can have a go as i’m Heading to bed and pretty busy in the morning.

As no one else is putting one up, another coastal shot…

If you squint, it looks a little like Great Britain.

Make it easy, why don’t you?

Well I had a pic of Sunderland bay but you said you used to surf there!

Might be a little wave in the pictured corner on the low tide Monday…
