Wow.

FARK - What tha hell did he do to that strang? R.I.P.

Unreal.

Horrible news.

Not fair…so much bad luck…and he does’ t deserve it.

Feel so sorry for him, he must have felt on top of the world as a 16, 17, 18 year old.

Bad, bad news. That has to be about it. To come back from here would be truly amazing.

Dispair.

A 12 week Hammy??

Or do I miss something?

Really, there is no justice in this world.

Fremantle recruit Scott Gumbleton will miss 12 weeks with a hamstring tear

SAM LANDSBERGER HERALD SUN MARCH 01, 2014 2:28PM

Fremantle forward Scott Gumbleton has revealed his good hamstring is his latest injury hurdle.

LUCKLESS Fremantle recruit Scott Gumbleton could miss half the season after another major blow to his fragile hamstrings.

The goalkicker suffered a significant tear high in his right hamstring in Wednesday night‘s win against the Western Bulldogs, ruling him out for 12 weeks.

Gumbleton, 25, was restricted to just 35 games in seven seasons at Essendon before joining the Dockers in exchange for draft pick No. 55.

He was expected to partner Matthew Pavlich in attack and joined last year‘s Grand Finalist alongside Colin Sylvia, who also made an underwhelming start in purple.

It was originally thought Gumbleton had suffered a standard tear, which would rule him out for three weeks.

But Gumbleton‘s scans were sent to a Melbourne specialist on Friday, which confirmed the seriousness of the injury.

The No. 2 pick lasted just 22 minutes against the Dogs before breaking down and being substituted out.

“It‘s very frustrating for Scott given the preparation he has had,” Fremantle football manager Chris Bond said.

“At this stage we expect that he will miss the next 12 weeks.”

Dockers coach Ross Lyon said after the 28-point NAB Challenge win against the Dogs he felt for Gumbleton.

“He needs to be resilient from here and keep going and not drop his bundle.”

The Dockers open the AFL season in less than two weeks when they travel to Etihad Stadium to face Collingwood.

They will also be without Jon Griffin and Keplar Bradley, who are returning from knee reconstructions, with Zac Clarke an outside chance to return from a knee injury he suffered at Lorne‘s New Year‘s Eve Falls music festival.

:frowning: Poor Gumby must be shattered AGAIN !!!

terrible news. its hard to believe an opposition player can receive such sympathy.

he'll always be a Bomber at heart.

:(

Fark the footy gods

If he can get into the Freo side that will be a miracle. He was only ever going to be given up by us if he dominated for Freo against us for an extended period.

I wish him all the best, but I suspect he will always be a Bomber.

:(

Fark the footy gods

Maybe, just maybe, Gumby should listen to those footy gods.

I really feel for Gumby, being injured AGAIN, but sheesh, he has the rest of his life to live, pretty hard to enjoy the rest of your life after footy, with a broken, run down body. He'll be old (body wise) before he has had his chance to be young.

Gee, our medical staff must have been good…

Poor fella just can’t get a decent crack at it.

Come back and be our forwards coach in your time off.

Poor bugger…
