I show up game after game mate, cheer my guts out. I am allowed my opinion on players just as you are. If you want to get personal you can- I don't care at all.
What do you think Gumby adds to the team? I'm honestly asking you why you think he should get a game?

personal about what? you remnd me of a bloos or tigers fan, i bet you were bronxing our bloke when he marked today........great suporter!!
yes i believe gumby is a better option than hurely forward. im not sure where crammers is at and unlike you i go watch the 2's as well so i see both sides of our club.
you think it was gumbys fault we lost today?? JD would have done what differently?

If you read the other threads you will see i was disgusted that he was bronxed cheered. I never said it was his fault we lost. I said he played terrible, and that is not in our best 22. I think he is done at our club.

If we are going to ask Gumby to stay inside 50 and stand under high balls while wrestling with his opponent and trying to jump over two other guys who get to the contest... then Hurley is a far better option.
I agree he has some really concerning limitations, but the delivery and the forward structure did him no favours today.
Chucking him into the side when we are already cooked and he has to carry the forward line, has just been throwing him to the wolves. Our key forwards look ordinary when we're winning, let alone in the rubbish served up today.
I think there will be better times to assess Gumby than straight after this game.

Agreed. He dropped 2 or 3 marks he really needed to take today. Also needed to work hard to bring the ball to ground or at least create a stoppage in a few crucial moments too.
As Hird stated in the presser, he copped a corky early, so, was playing hampered. For whatever reason, they need to leave him in until the end of the year.
This needed to be the year that Gumby established himself as an AFL player and unfortunately it hasn't happened. The majority of the team look physically and mentally stuffed and I can't see Gumby doing much to change the team's fortunes or his own.
I'd love to see him succeed in red & black next year and beyond, but I've officially lost faith in that ever happening.
Shocking game by Gumby today but he wasn't alone. Can't see a place for him with so many talls in the team. It would be better off for everyone if he was at another club next year. Especially for him where he might get a regular game and find some form.

Agree with this...very unfair to judge him considering the current state of the side.

Playing any 6’5", sub-30 game tall forward, for dribs and drabs, in our busted-■■■■ forward line with our busted-■■■■ delivery is not going to improve anything.
They need continuity, the midfield needs to learn when and where to put it too.
I agreed with sticking with Hurley as long as they did. We need to do the same with Gumby, in all the games we have left.
Playing Joe for 1 or 2 won’t get him anywhere, either.

Appreciated and agreed HAP. I'd hardly say we've been throwing Gumby a bone. To his credit, the guy knows how to lead and is a natural fwd (who has played under 30 games)
He really has to play the last few games if not for the sake of continuity, to expose him to potential trading suitors.
I think The inevitable question is, with Fletch likely to retire this year, Can Gumby and Joe exist in the same fwd line next year if Hurley goes back?
He's a liability at the moment. Offers nothing. The bloke who got on the field twice was more involved in the game than Gumb.
Last week it's the weather, this week it's the ???
Yes must agree I like Gumby but he is GAWN at seasons end sorry was woeful today, not presenting, not competitive , would trade for Yarran in a heartbeat. Agree with other posters above Gumby has had way too many chances too sunny, too windy, too wet, too dry, too cold, too hot, not delivered to him correctly, how about not good enuf sorry , Pears too , both not upto AFL standard I am afraid and been supporting bombers for the last 30 years, time to rebuild look to the future get behind Hird and club and clear the deadwood, we need runners, runners and more runners, legspeed killed us today
Crameri, Hurley, Colyer MUST come in next week for Pears, Gumby and Licha for us to have any hope v the kangas
Remember Gumby of 2009 or 2010. That running machine that would run defenders ragged. Well, we have ruined him. I just feel like we have blown another career. I honestly believe that he could be completely turned around at another club. I have said it before, but I would lean him down back to his 2010 weight. Just use him as an athletic freak.
