There was rumoured to be friction/disconnect within the coaching group
Skipworth perhaps one such not on the same page with what Rutten wanted to do
Perhaps he was to be demoted or moved on
Seems an odd change to go from AFL midfield coach to an academy role though. Maybe it’s all happened so late that weren’t other opportunities.

Was he unpopular on this site on the basis that he was no good at his job, or simply that he was not (/is not) a big name?
Because the players seemed to speak quite highly of him.
