Here's THE TEAM vs Pies

I’m sick of getting smashed on Anzac Day before the consolation win later on in the year. We either get blown away early or are in the game at half time before they clear out to a 4-5 goal lead which we can’t come back from. I want the satisfaction of 2013 again. I want another moment like Jobe bursting from the pack and nailing that goal from the boundary and celebrating in front of our fans, which has put the game outta Collingwood’s reach.

This table shows the year end ladder positions of the two clubs. I’ve called it an upset when the lower placed side at the end of the season won the ANZAC clash. I’ve also labelled it a “blowout” when one side won by more than 40 points.

We’ve had two upset wins, the Pies one. During the time period there have been four blowout results, and we’ve been on the receiving end of three of them. I’d suggest it’s this experience that has resulted in the collective trauma we’re witnessing in this thread.

Surely we weren’t 9th going in in 2013 after being 4-0 including a win of 145 points. We were favourites that day for mine.
