HOT TAKES

Nope.

3rd on my list, behind PWAPC & Red Sails respectively, & only just pips Head Injuries for 3rd.

You’re a fan of Australian hip hop?
Never would have guessed.

Agree.
But I’m not sure my fave (Place Without A Postcard) is the same as yours…

It’s close to what @BLOODSTAINED_DEVILS listed, but I haven’t exactly determined the rankings.

I’m surprised no one mentioned Breathe.

We should allow cinematographers to go around filming abandoned famous streets and buildings so film-makers don’t have to use crappy CGI.

Can anyone give me any good reason why filming the family of someone going to (or leaving) court should be legal?

shouldn’t have been related to a criminal…

but you want dumb question amnesty, or death of journalism.

you really don’t get hottakes.

I probably don’t.
I guess I think of it as random, possibly unpopular opinion.

I get what you’re driving at but I’m not sure how you’d write & enforce that law?
Essentially, in Australia you can film anyone or anything in the public view.

Do you have an exclusion zone around courts? Ban cameras? A separate dedicated private pickup zone?

Only at Supreme court? County? oodnadatta magistrate’s court?

Hard to make it work.

Plus the only reason those people came is to support that person through that process.

I think they should be allowed to do it, but they should have rules about behaviour. I supported someone through a Supreme Court trial once, and on two occasions was hassled by photographers. The first time was a tv cameraman who literally walked beside me for half a block filming the side of my head. I put that down to a little boy’s idea of intimidation. And the second one was a newspaper photographer who literally shoved his camera in my face (2 - 3 inches away) trying to get me to swat him away to get a nice dramatic shot for the paper to tell lies about. They should not be allowed to behave like that.

You probably had a real good booger that needed to be caught on camera.

I feel like we don’t see the real in-your-face ones these days, or at least not as much. But that shouldn’t be allowed anywhere, not just outside of court.

No we don’t, thank Christ. Just as well because they are effective. A lot of people react. I know that the guy who did it to me would have eaten a very expensive camera if it went on much longer. It just feels so intrusive. Which of course is the idea.

You are much better behaved than I was. A bloke waiting for me outside my property with a camera with an extended lens. I came out of the driveway, walked over to him and gave my itinery for the day and made a joke of it. Followed me around all day filming me. Following day, he drives up the driveway and hands me a piece of paper and asks me where someone lives, I take the piece of paper thinking it was a map or something and it was a summons for me. Third day, he is still sitting out the front, I ring neighbours on the corner, who he has also been tailing and watching, he is apparently from the Transport Accident Commission. Neighbour goes over and throws a bucket of water through the window. We drive past camera man, standing outside his car wringing out his clothes is dripping wet. Final Day, he drives onto vacant block next door to us, with his vehicle over into my boundary. I walk around through the bottom of our block and up from behind, grabbed his camera and threw it in the dam and said,“Its only shallow.” Get to court and there he is again, stating things which were blatantly untrue and threatening to show a video. I said, go ahead and play it, its not me. I haven’t done any of the things you’ve accused me of however I did admit to throwing his camera in the dam which is probably still there. It was never played it was a new blank video.

Matchday threads should be binned?

Matchday itself should be binned?

They should have to do sketches like the in courtroom ones, but moving, like a cartoon.

I could just see it now, some kind of looney tunes style grab of people trying to hide their face and smash cameras all at the same time, but with real sound. (Or are we going to get actors for that too?)
