I think people are desensitised to that one. Meh!

I can see the headlines now ‘Shock and dismay as club doesn’t have best 22 available for Round 0 game’

Rioters took to the streets…

I have zero faith he’s ever going to make it.

“In the latest Injury Update for Essendon the new bombshell is that they only have 1 senior player available for selection. Zach Merrett…”

It’s only a matter of time before we read this headline…

CLUB STATEMENT

“We can confirm that captain Zach Merrett has today requested a trade to the St Kilda football club”

“The 29 year old has expressed his desire to be part of a premiership side and today formally told the club he wants to join the Saints”

Looking forward to Rids returning for the Dreamtime game and marking everything in sight.

I knew we should have selected Phillipou. He has Essendon player written all over him.

I agree, but I hope he is better than Frost.

Here’s hoping but it would be good to just have a player who reliable does his job

With Shiel as our running half back and Cox the intercept marking defender.

Good times ahead. Oppo forward lines look out.

I don’t think it’s the length of your injury list that matters.
It is who is on it.
On ours are players central to any push to climb the ladder.
Ridley
Parish
McKay

… and to a lesser extent Cox and Jones.

The only positive there is that mckay’s position requires the least running out of any position on the field so hopefully an interrupted preseason has a minimal effect on his output

Central to any successful side is a stable, strong back six. Essendon can’t build a stable back six because key components of a future backline are always injured (Ridley, Reid, McKay to lesser extent).

The alternate “positive” is we may not finish mid table I guess
