I want four last quarters.

The ANZAC Day comeback against Melbourne.
Jimmy’s last quarter against WC.
Prelim against Adelaide.
Centenary game against Geelong.

I’m going with the previous suggestion of round 22 2009 v Hawks AND I want to experience what is was like from ground level in the grog squad sending off the butt hurt Hawks fans in there half empty members section.

I was on the top deck that day and it was completely full of Essendon.

as far as Geelong games go the 93 effort where fish kicked 10 and Ablett 14 is pretty hard to go past. The guilty pleasure of watching Ablett go nuts would be counterbalanced by the win and beer being cheaper.

I was at that one.
Ablett should have kicked way more than 14, as crazy as that sounds.

I was at the Adleaide Prelim, too. If it’s not too much to ask, I’d like to watch it this time without my new Adelaide supporting bride (no offence, Mrs Wim).

Geelong 93 was a terrific day at the football. Hilarious we won.

1993 GF and I’d be there in my BIG FISH number 3 Nubrik jersey.

Felt like a final that day. Was in the standing area of the southern stand end and it was an angry day, lots of little spot fires amongst the fans. Will never forget Hurleys last quarter.

I sat (with a Swiss guy going to his first game) in the Hawthorn members for the first half. It was ■■■■■■ awful. At half time I said “let’s go stand with these guys I know behind the goals” and ooooh boy did he get an education he’ll never forget, of a mosh pit going 200% full Fark Carlton.

I was in my last year of school and was lovelorn after my high school crush, sitting round the corner from her place in my Datsun 180B trying to summon courage to get rejected again. So feeling down and then worse because I’d checked the score at half time.
Then during that third quarter I had completely forgotten about girls and by the time “what can timmy Watson do” was uttered by Ian Robertson I had moved on.
Had a funny feeling it was going to continue into the next week.

I was with my Hawks supporting cousins and uncle in the MCC that day. Just magical.

Travelling back: ANZAC Day 2009. Would have been my first or second game I’d been to since moving to Melbourne. From experiencing the pre game ceremony to then accepting the loss and then going spastic at Jetta’s jelly legs, Dyson’s dream goal and then Zaka’s epic finish. Yep I’d like to experience that for the first time again.

Cant believe no ones said The Comeback 2001

I too was at the 93 cats game. Ablett kicked 7 goals 7 behinds in the first half! Then 7 goals straight in the second half.

Was also at the centenary game for boris (and longy :frowning: ) - it was one of the most fun and enjoyable games I’ve been to.

Was also at the Melbourne comeback game in 92. The last quarter was simply epic. So many bomber heroes.

Also at all 4 finals in 93… Just a dream month that will never be topped.

the game I’d always like to return to would be the 93 grand final. The day was just a celebration against the rival I most like to beat. After the draw against them earlier in the year… The qualifying final loss with injured players, Gavin’s Brownlow win over diesel it was such a satisfying day which literally no one expected at the start of the year. Great day, great team, the best era for football. We win.

1966 World Cup final. Won't ever happen again.

Thats ice cold

Probably the game where Dermie went through the huddle. I'd let the fellas know it was going to happen and have 'plans in place'.

So you want to be an accessory to murder? I like it

Oh no, did anyone mention murder, far too much murder for one week.
sep 7 1959.scrub the day from history.

Ok, what happened?

Great post benny.

Yeah, living in Perth during this period I would’ve loved to have been at every match of 1993, just to experience the roller coaster ride that was that season.

To watch the Baby Bombers emerge, Tim Watson’s brilliant return, Gavin Wanganeen’s mastery each week would have been heaven to witness live each week and Longy’s electrifying finals series.

Round 16 against the Eagles would’ve been a great one to be at too.

Having lost a big match against North the previous Friday night when a win would have given us top spot, the Eagles win proved pivotal in the context of our season the following Sunday.

With Salmon missing absolutely everything that day at full forward, with about 90 seconds to go , found himself with a free kick 45 metres directly in front of which he duly slotted to finish with 1.7 for the day to win the match for us.

The look of relief on his face after scoring that goal was priceless.

And this is of course where the jacket waving game was born as Sheeds walked down towards the ground through the crowd onto the ground as a repsonse to the constant whinging from Malthouse and the Eagles coaching staff in the coaches box next to them.

'93 remains my most fond premiership and season ever of following Essendon.

The 1984 Grand Final but this time a seat on the wing not behind the goals at the city end.

Has to be Ablett v Salmon shootout or Carey v Lloyd shootout

That was a great game! Although Fish kicked 1 goal 3 points that day- so many bombers supporters mix that up with the next week when he kicked 1 goal 7 against the blues. It’s funny but a forward kicking 1.3 is a ho hum event these days but you’re right- salmons goal to win the day was huge! Loved that game.

That where I was. With all the EFC people, and one hawthorn supporter who copped it all day.
