The career of controversial Richmond footballer Jake King hangs in the balance after again defying club orders to cease all connections with Bandidos boss Toby Mitchell.
The feisty forward was seen having coffee with Mitchell in Melbourne’s Docklands a month after being given explicit instructions by the Richmond Football Club to cut ties with the bikie leader.
The pair were then seen having a lengthy chat on the footpath before hugging as they left.
King met with club officials in December after defying a previous order to stay away from members of a bikie gang.
King was spotted at the Legends Football League fixture at AAMI Park, a controversial sporting event which features American football played by scantily clad female athletes.
In the photograph King is seen sitting with a group of friends and former Bandidos chief, Toby Mitchell. Onlookers told News Ltd the pair looked like “the best of mates” at the game.
The Tigers star was instructed by the club several months ago to end his association with Mitchell.
Last season King invited Mitchell into the locker rooms during Richmond’s clash with Brisbane in round 20, leading to concerns from the club that contact with former criminals could be a bad influence on King and the team.
“Jake has been counselled specifically on that issue and our playing group are counselled more broadly about off-field issues,” Richmond told media.
According to reports, the most recent sit-down with King over the issue is the second instance he’s needed to be warned about befriending Mitchell.

Someone posted in here that they reckon Mitchell is his old man, strikingly similar looks. So if the AFL can stop you hanging round your old man the. We really do love in a Namny State
Of all the things a club could pull someone up on it’s a player (who as far as I can tell has no off field issues or indiscretions) hanging out with someone the club deems “unsociable”
Maybe they should worry less about Jake King and more about keeping Dustin Martin out of jail

Pretty sure he was up on some kind of domestic issue or the like.
Anyway, EFC had these sorts of clowns linked to the club through 2 degrees of separation, this could get a bit more serious than AOD9604
Not sure what the laws in Vic are but SA passed a anti-association law last year that makes it illegal for anyone to associate with bikies and a 6 month jail term can be dished outOf all the things a club could pull someone up on it's a player (who as far as I can tell has no off field issues or indiscretions) hanging out with someone the club deems "unsociable"

Surely the most farcical thing in all of that is the line “the Richmond star”… Seriously, star? Talk about creative journalism.
I hadnt even noticed that!Surely the most farcical thing in all of that is the line "the Richmond star"... Seriously, star? Talk about creative journalism.
Hilarious
Was he drink driving? Speeding? Taking drugs? Acting in a criminal manner? No?

Just another attempt by the media to create an issue so they can report on it.
Let's hope he doesn't go associating with this guy in Queensland. He'll get arrested.
What a sad world (country) we live in
One where you can be accused of being a criminal purely on the basis of proximity
By that token every Colombian must be a drug dealer because odds are they went to school or lived on the same street as one
Heck, I must be an outlawed bikie because there is a clubhouse down the road!
Could it be possible that King would be a positive influence on Mitchell? Sheesh he was having a coffee in broad daylight and in plain view of the public. Parents lock up your kids. Regardless of what we think of King as a player, he has done no wrong here and the Tigers have been embarrassed by this cheap media beat up. Waits now for The Rage to comment on this.Â
How about society start telling employers that there is work time, and private time, and they have absolutely zero say over your private time. This employer invasion of life is just out of control. They are the people you work for, not your mother.
That ^
And if you ban everyone from hanging out with, or anywhere near, someone with a criminal history it doesn’t leave a lot of people or places to hang out lol
And I find this all so ironic given the country was built by convicts haha

By the same token how about telling people in general if you don't want comment on your private life don't advertise it relentlessly on social media.
