Jake Stringer - Nominates Essendon

But we could also get a guy who goes onto play 200 games and isn’t a bogan

Some weird rumours going around about Stringer, getting to gutter levels and he is full Cousins.

I’d say over 80% of the greatest footballers of all time, were / are certifiable bogans.

I like the idea of Stringer with no issues, but I wholeheartedly agree with the point around the new culture and leaders.

We do need to add the right amount of mongrel at the right time though.

A Max Rooke type.

Agree Wim. The article seemed very personal for mine.

Hibberd was a Bogan.
And he was a very good footballer.

You cant have all private school boys in the team - see Dees.
Sometimes you need a few Bogans to balance it off nicely.

The Captain says hi.

Actually no, he’d probably say “Too right, champ”.

Plenty of private school bogans out there

I’m talking more Dandenong bogan than country bogan

2 years? Are we still in the stringer thread?

Hibberd also knew when to knuckle down and work hard.

I think we need to introduce quotas:

1/4 of the team Andy McGrath prefect types
1/4 David Myers solid citizen types
1/4 Kyle Remiers bogan types
1/4 Tommy Hislop loose cannon types

A bit of something for everyone.

Hearing he is having some issues offield - yarran like. Really hoping its not true.

If this is the case then we absolutely can not risk our pick 11. Second rounder and steak knives only.

Seriously, the guy was all Australian two years ago and now the club he plays for want to get rid of him?

Does that not scream buyer beware to anyone else?

I’d leave the decision entirely in Worsfolds hands, he’s had first hand experience with coaching players on googs so if hes uncomfortable with getting him then NO to getting him.

Having said all that we’ve been into him atleast a few months so Worsfold and the club would have to be aware of any off field issues surely.

Ice?

Not good if so. Far worse than having a cheeky nose beer at times whilst out and about.

What would you be willing to give up for him?

We could have a medal for each category: “This years Tom Hislop medal goes to…”

I think the suggestion is that it isn’t the googs. If it is an ice addiction this is a serious risk for the club.
