I thought Xavier Campbells response at the AGM was pretty average regarding the recruitment of Indigenous players.
Just said that we have the Daveyâs next draft and hopefully we get some luck with our NGAâŚ. Then proceeded to let everyone know about the work our VFLW team has been doing in this space.

having 2 top 40 kids fall into your lap because their Dad happened to play 100 games for the club isnât providing opportunities to indigenous people.
itâs taking credit for the guy who did 15 years before.

Thinking bout the changes to the nga, to make things fair for all clubs they should be allowed to draft one first-round and one second-round player to make up for the fact that some clubs (WBD/Norf/Collingwood etc) benefitted earlier without putting the work in.
Once every club has had access to their one 1st round and one 2nd round NGA talent then they revert to the 40+ rule

Better idea, put all the zoning and next gen academies and FA picks in the bin, and go back to a normal draft, 18 picks per round.
Only exception should be FS.

Donât open Pandoraâs box for the AFL. If we get rid of the NGAs altogether the F?S will be next to go and it will be 2022 that they remove it. Donât give them ideas that can impact on us more significantly than other clubs.
Besides the Northern clubs are exempt from the rules that the rest of us go by !
Something that bugs me is when they say âdaughter of former 133 game Bomber Courtenayâ.
a) Courtenay only ever played senior footy for essendon
b) Would have a life membership
Therefore, is still a bomber, whats this former nonsense?
Thatâs something pointless to be bugged about. Pretty sure heâs a former player⌠as in, doesnât play for us any more and wonât again
