James Hird — January 2017 onwards (Part 1)

So true, I love footy shows, except for every single pundit and host on every single show.

They are all appalling

Hird and Buckley yes. Lethal - no thanks. His incredibly partisan comments whenever he’s been on during a Collingwood or Brisbane game have put me off him for life. Plus the hipocrisy when he has talked about rough play and things needing to be looked at … small vomit material.

Over-saturation and just too much cheese…

Dunstal then and get rid of Eddie as the chief can host

That’s a convoluted way to say “his voice”

No ~ absolutely not!

How long do we have to wait for Hird to come back and be President? 10 years?

Hirdy. You’ve gotta sort out those reading glasses gawd

Hird should have just gone back into business and walk right away from football.

Breaks my heart to see how he ended up.

I reckon he should just do whatever makes him happy (except coach the EFC again)

Time.
I have KAYO and only watch Essendon matches on there.
We have netflix and I barely watch anything on there at all. Mostly for the kids.
After a good win used to love the footy analysis, but I haven’t even watched Hirdy’s show, only a few mins on Instagram reels of his analysis.

If someone finds something decent on here will probably follow link.

I guess I get my footy analysis more from a fans perspective and just Essendon focused from Grant & CJohns or The Sash

I doubt anything makes him happy these days.

Some honest comments from Hird

He’s a very insightful commentator and I don’t find him particularly biassed.

God damn I still love Hird.
A small part of me would still love to see him back as our coach.

For his sake, and the clubs, I really hope that never happens.

An off-field role as chief commercial officer or something? Absolutely. He’s got both football and business acumen.

But nothing to do with onfield. It will only lead to tears.

… of joy!!

I’d happily have him back.

Bit of a backhander to 2015 assistant coaches…

  • Mark Neeld – Head of development and strategy
  • Nathan Bassett – Forwards coach
  • Matthew Egan – Defensive coach
  • James Kelly – Development coach
  • Sean Wellman – Assistant coach
  • Mark Harvey – Assistant coach
  • Hayden Skipworth / Paul Corrigan (VFL)

High praise for the 2013 group though…

  • Mark Thompson - senior assistant
  • Sean Wellman - defensive structure
  • Simon Goodwin - midfield structure
  • Matthew Egan - forward structure
  • James Byrne - development
  • Hayden Skipworth - VFL
