Jarrad Grant

He’s a third tall. Even as a third tall he has limitations.
He’s more of a runner than a marking target.
I don’t think he’s a terrible player. He’s just limited and his previous coaches have tried to play him in spots that don’t suit his attributes.

If he were playing for us this year, he would be played ahead of Ambrose (but hopefully not played in the ruck).
For next season’s team, he’d be fighting it out with Langford, Edwards and Dempsey as the mid sized forwards in our team. He’s definitely performed better than all three, but I think there’s enough development in Edwards and Langford to suggest they’d overtake him within the next few years.
He’d be an upgrade on Dempsey though.

Unfortunately, he’s not for us. I’m sure he’ll get somewhere though.

JARRAD Grant has been delisted by the Western Bulldogs after failing to find a new home in the NAB AFL Trade Period.

Grant, who was an unrestricted free agent, could move to the club of his choice during the exchange period and explored every option after the Bulldogs chose not to approach him about a new deal.

The 26-year-old was unable to find a new home, however, and was delisted by the club on Friday morning.

Grant, who signed a two-year extension at the end of 2013, played 81 games for the Bulldogs after making his debut in round five 2009.

He kicked 11 goals in 19 games for the Bulldogs this season.

Grant can still move to the club of his choice during one of the three delisted free agent windows or nominate for the NAB AFL Draft or pre-season or rookie drafts.

Grant was recruited with pick No.5 in the 2007 Draft and has battled form and endured an injury-interrupted time at Whitten Oval.

He fractured his left foot in last year’s pre-season campaign.

Lot of talk here that we need KPP depth. I have no real knowledge of Grant, the fact the Doggies are giving a bloke his size the ■■■■■■ says a lot really, but might he be worth it for free simply for a tall body floating around the reserves (or, you know, the medical room)? Age where he should be at his peak, 81 games, can play forward … thoughts?

Surely your taking the ■■■■. If not, possibly the worst call of all time.

Well I did say I had no real knowledge of him. I have no idea if you can’t comprehend English or are just taking the ■■■■, the fact you use ‘your’ instead of the contraction of ‘you are’ suggests the former. Simply asking a question of people who may know more about this player than I do.

Poor mans Gumby

Poor man’s Cale Morton

Yet…
He’s played more games than those two combined.

Go figure.

Player of little value going cheap folks. Come one come all…

Carlton will pick him up for sure.

They seem to be trying to recreate the Dogs' forward line of about 2011. Already got Liam Jones, Tutt & Everitt. Get Grant and then they just need to convince Barry to strap the boots on again.

I have no care either way to be honest, if the man walks in front of a bus tomorrow I’ll be sad for his loved ones but really couldn’t care less that it means he would not ever play for my football club.</blockquote
And yet it’s still the worst call of all time.

Talia is a leaker still worth two round four picks. Grant is… not.

If grant had not been a top 5 draft pick he would have been delisted years ago & nobody would have noticed.

why was he a top 5 draft pick? What did he look like becoming?

Dogs were starved of anyone tall who could go forward. They went him over Henderson.

He should be a carbon clone of Jack Gunston, but he’s more like Jack Watts with worse disposal

Is worse than a spud.

Is a simply awful footballer.

His best is pretty good but he has been pretty inconsistent. Just before he re-signed he was pretty much off the GC as an uncontracted player (maybe to be re-acquainted with a stingray) but his form really picked up and got kept at the dogs.

Has some really impressive athletics capabilities but is an awful kick at goal and is not physically strong. I reckon his speed in a Pagan’s Paddock scenario would be very handy but only if he was instructed to run to the goal line to minimise the chances of missing shots. I would be slightly interested but only for a low price.

His career highlight is getting stung by a stingray.

I reckon the Dogs have kept him so long only to make Bob Murphy look a bit less weirdly alien by comparison.

It’s weird that he got delisted after his best year of footy.
