Jason winderlich

cannot take a trick and I truly feel for him. I was gutted when I saw him with the red vest on.

its now again to the point where every time he runs, ya think his hammies will go twang again. really frustrating because there was a good period up until a month ago he was getting a real good run at it and when he’s fit, he’s such a good player and barometer for us.

doubt well see him again this year

I wonder if that's curtains for him, would he pull the pin?

Not that I want him to. But he's no good to us as a 3 weeks on, 4 weeks off player.

I disagree, although far from ideal, we are a much better team even if Winders is only a 50% prospect.

Shouldn't pull the pin.

At 28 he's got at least 3 years in him, however he has spent a long time on the sidelines these last couple of years and you can understand if he's just fed up with it all.

On the upside it was apparently a strain, not a tear. Hird said he might not miss any weeks although did say it's only a 6 day break so he could.

Hope they manage him through the next week or so so he can play another finals game.

He is so farking good.

Get 20 games into Licha next season and we’ll be top 4.

I remember him saying on a episode of the hanger this year that he would like to play for another three years so doubt he’ll retire

and dont believe anything hird or the club says about injury. last week he said dempsey night get up this week. licha just missed 3 weeks because he had “tightness”

maybe if we are lucky he’ll be ok for a elimination final

Would have been the difference today

He is good I think.

He has the work ethic to match the footy smarts. We are a far better side with him in the team without a doubt.

It's just sad to see his body let him down so often.

Such a class footballer

Hope he doesn’t retire

Not sure what else he’s got in his life, outside football and whether he’s drawn to that

You’re a long time out of the game

He’ll be confident in the knowledge the coach loves him and would want him to play on

Still feeling the effects of the two knees (ACLs) in one game to Dempsey and Winders...three years after it happened.

Just rotten luck really.

gotta feel for the guy. Just has no luck. I would rest him until our elimination final. He seems to be a guy that can come in, off no game time and make an impact. Make sure he is 100% right for our final.

GUN.  Would be elite but for his fragile body.  Great for his size overhead, good tank, super-quick, outstanding footy brain, brilliant disposal.  Made of Plastecine.  Was a first round draft pick wasn't he?  Sigh... imagine how different our mid-late 2000s midfield would have looked if he and Rama had gotten a decent go of it and Lovett wasn't a goose.  Still had Lloyd, Lucas, and Hird for a bit too...    Even right now,we are a much better team with him in it... except that you never know at which point in a given game his body is going to cost us a rotation.

Had 3 goals to his name in the first qrt and was creating run didn't even know he got injured until I looked at screen and saw him with the red vest FML.

Possibly my favorite player in the current squad ... have always liked him, but he has no luck at all with injuries.

I was watching him sprint past his opponent to take the mark for his second goal and literally said to my mate "i hope his hammy doesn't go" - as he was giving it 100% as always.

Then we see him with the red vest. I had optimistically hoped it was cause it was his first game back and maybe he was sore. But no.

He's was a crucial part of our forward line, hope he can get over this and really contribute for the next 3 years!

Massive loss... played a huge part in our wins against collingwood, eagles in perth, port and the dogs.

If this guy was injury free for his whole career he'd be elite in my opinion.

His back is clearly shot to bits and causing these hammy issues, i doubt we will see him again this year which is a shame cos we are a far better side with him in it.

It is not his back causing his hammy issues.

It is the scar tissue on the hammy from where the graft was taken for the ACL reconstruction.
