I’m not sure this is the right player to be questioned as to whether they are being managed or not
I genuinely think he is being managed and I’m glad the call was made.
From a trade perspective, you wouldn’t want to see Joe break down tomorrow.
Bilateral caution- preserve Joe for a trade, or for an extended career at EFC.
Can you imagine if he wasn’t named next week
What about someone like Stuart Lowe, started his career as a terrible kick but over time developed a technique that was more than serviceable.
2 games in 5 days coming back from big groin issues. Completely fair.
How many big names have come back early and broken down.
Cunnington and Ziebell are 2 that spring to mine.
Nah you’re right @Darli . It is mildly amusing that it is mostly the same posters that incessantly whinge about mediocrity here find this behaviour perfectly acceptable.
I don’t necessarily think he would be a good goal kicking coach but I think he would be a good forward line coach. He was a smart forward. I remember a game he was commentating on Scott Gumbleton and what he needed to do regarding leading patterns and thinking why isn’t he doing that.
She’s not right. People also whinge about the game having no characters any more and everyone just being robots. Then a player does something like this which is completely harmless and yet keyboard warriors and the media ■■■■ and moan about it like he’s just sat down on the ground and watched while play was going on around him for 5 minutes.
Is it any different to people here that had a go at Heppell and Myers having a joke and laugh after a loss? That was after the game and people were calling for their heads. Yet this is during the game and Daniher is your “Aussie larrikin”.
Give him a rest, bring him in to get his hands on the ball against Port and then he can sink the Dees and summons them to 9th to finish the season.
This is far less of an issue than that but people whinging about players smiling or laughing after a loss are taking the ■■■■ too because they have no idea of the context
More like Truck ‘Managed’ to drop Joe.
Lol let’s hope they listen to my other piece of advice ‘better put someone on Dangerfield, he’s a pretty good player’
Joe sitting on a ■■■■■■■ fence caused us to be ■■■■ for the past two decades.
The point being I want to know where he’s at. If he’s going to break down after 3 games in 11 days then his op is never going away. I don’t want to get to the end of the season having nursed him through some short games and then possibly giving him a new contract unless we know he’s going to stay on the park.
Dont know if sitting down during the game adds any colour or character to the game.
In context his game last week was concerning. Taking two seconds to prepare for a shot at goal, then snapping from a slight angle reeks of both a lack of confidence and a laissez faire attitude in an effort to compensate. The champions work even harder when things aren’t quite right… they don’t slacken off.
He’s not a young footballer anymore and should have worked out a mental plan for his goal kicking issues. Instead 7/8 years into his career and he’s still blasting away hoping for the best.
Does this bloke want to put in the time to be the best?
I don’t blame the club for taking the approach that it has here. The good thing is, he played 2 games in a 5 day period and pulled up well. It’s probably not the groin problems they are worrying about, it would be soft tissue. Rest him up, and then he’s right for Port and the Dees to close out 2020. If so then we can say that his rehabilitation has gone well and he can hit 2021 with confidence. Let’s hope that he does so in red and black. All the contract talk has gone quiet, so I’m not sure if that’s a good or bad thing…
Some clubs have forwards coaches who were never forwards. In the case of Reiwoldt, I wouldn’t be judging him on his conversation %, it is whether he is smart enough to identify any problems that Joe has and rectify them and communicate it effectively to Joe.
