The suggestion in 2018 and 2019 was that he’d kept quiet about just how much discomfort he was in from the club, and kept saying he was fine.
It’s entirely possible he’s now over-corrected.
The club will come out with some bullshit story about him “making good progress .”
Personally sick of the the lack of communication because they are embarrassed they kept him and hasn’t even got close to a game this year.
We were told he was going to recover and play this year but hasn’t even got close yet.
It’s exactly what’s wrong with the club.
If Joe does end up leaving heads must roll on the decision to keep him.
i’m curious, what happens to “the risk of injury” philosophy playing at the highest level ?
does it go up or down or disappear ?
cos i was under the impression you had just as much chance getting injured in the big leagues, just as much as the scratch matches. Now correct me if i’m wrong, but you can still get injured in the afl right ?
it’s not as if we have anyone else on the list who’s also been injury prone lately who’s just broken down again cos he was thrown straight back into afl paced footy. oh yeah that’s right we do.
I don’t have a problem with us playing hardball at the time. Sydney were trying to lowball us. Screw them.
Im happy to boot xavier and dodoro- but i don’t hold this against them
Might feel good but hard ball for a player who doesn’t even fire a shot? Maybe Sydney have a point… meanwhile we are paying him shitloads and he doesn’t want to play…
And they want to be the most inclusive club in the AFL… just when it suits though.
This one’s a real heads scratcher from you mate
Of course there’s risk of injury playing an AFL match, but what is the alternative…never play a match?
If Joe is at a level of fitness that means he will be ready for AFL next week, why play him in a meaningless scratch match where he might get injured, you may as well play him in a meaningful AFL match where he might get injured.
I don’t believe he will get anything fitness wise out of a scratch match so I don’t really understand the point of it for someone like Joe. They are good for young guys to show off what they can do and practice game plans/coaches’ instructions but if you’re one of the teams best players there is really no point. Stringer didn’t play a scratch match either
Joey wants to play.
Also said he wants to get out there but is being made to wait a few more days.
I think there were also a lot of Tigers fans that understood at no point has Ellis ever been worth a first-round pick
What’s an Ayrton?
That news only confirms that the club and Joe are still uncertain where he’ll play next year.
Sounds like the type of thing a manager would say.
The local version of a Bentick.
Do you call Pick 9 + a future 1st rounder (from a ■■■■ team mind you) as a low-ball offer for a guy that’s as durable as a milk arrowroot biscuit dipped in a cup of tea?
Is this the scorned lovers thread or the JD thread? Asking for a friend.
