John Worsfold - will not get a new contract in 2021

Given how much footage he would have to get through better schedule dinner.

So where are the knives?? Worsfold is fine and has been great for our club. He has made changes and refocused the entire group.
The PLAYERS have decided to follow Heppel and Smith by putting their heads over the ball and are attacking opponents with manic ferocity. Football 101.
And the most intelligent player that we have in our forward line has returned from injury; Orazio!

Fantasia’s inclusion the last few weeks has been massive.

I’ve said it before and will say it again.

Fantasia and McKenna are just about the two most important players in our team with the their pace, skill, ability to win their own ball and ability to do brilliant things. When they play in the same side and have even just reasonable games, we will not lose many games of football.

Langford should join them for that coffee…

Ummmm…(quietly puts the pitchfork away and extinguishes the torch, hoping no-one remembers the comments he made about Woosha a few weeks ago)…nice day, isn’t it?

Kind of why the knives were out. He wasn’t making changes when he should have, or his change was
Out: Langford
In: Myers

We have played some kids, they’ve shown some enthusiasm and it can lift the team a bit. Add to that Hep and the leadership group apologising to the younger players and that shows they admitted a problem.

Next two weeks will be interesting. These two weeks we have gone against teams who prefer to attack and back their game plan rather than shut down the opponent and we have run over them. Richmond especially look to shut the opponent down, they’ll block up the corridor, will be interesting to see how we respond to that.

Two weeks doesn’t invalidate the six weeks that proceeded it. This club nuked season 2018 in dramatic fashion, that’s WHY everyone was going nuts.

Club then makes some common sense decisions on field and at selection, as well as attitude and personnel changes in the coaches box and things look much better. That doesn’t mean the pitchforks and cannons were misplaced, it means they were earned.

Woosh still on notice for mine. June’s around the corner and you know how that goes. Essington’s not extinguished until we win a final.

I’m happy with the last fortnight but we have won two in a row at times in the last 15 years. Cool your lid off posts.

I’m telling you that Worsfold reads my posts on blitz.

Disagree, completely different post match review this week.

Harding is the guy who’s rated pretty highly internally, from what you hear.

Was at North, then Cats when Scott first got there, then at Adelaide with Sanderson/Walsh/Woosh. Woosh brought him over.

Skipworth can bake some vanilla slices.

It’s not one thing.

The confidence has lifted. Guys are running into space with enthusiasm. The run of Fanta and some youngsters, and the inclusion of one or two more guys who look for those outlets (particularly Langford, loves to find a 30m target breaking into space) helped.
No way the side of a month ago withers that comeback and fights it out and runs over the top.

The 22 as picked has a bit more flexibility, Ambo and Dea and Ridley can take different types and give you a bit more run over Hurls and Hartley

The coaches are more experimental and quicker to flick those changes.

The physical side has lifted 100% from where it was a month ago. Led by Bags, Ambo, Smack, Guelfi.

Still work to do…

This form turnaround is EXACTLY what happened in 2010. We were on fire in May that year, got to 5-5, some close hard fought losses before the bye and then season turned into a steaming pile of ■■■■ after the bye with a 10+ goal loss interstate.

Knowing Essington I’m backing this to repeat. Close hard fought loss vs Richmond, will beat Brisbane then 80pt loss after the bye vs West Coast then 8 goal loss to Norf to end Worsfold’s career.

Hang on. Worsfold sticking to a game plan that was clearly not going to work and being stubborn on selection up till round 8 was what pretty much killed our season off. But now because he has taken the advice of everyone that could see the issues he is a wonder coach and never should have been questioned? Nice re- writing of history there.
Happy to back him in now he has done the right thing but let’s not deny being 2 and 6 was because of his poor coaching up till he took some obvious advice on board. A lot of that validated what a lot of blitzers said we needed to change.

Dumping on the line coaches seems to have abated

dw if he drops langford hes done.

lol. Love it how we are vindicated because our bagging worsfold helped him learn how much he sucked as a coach so that he could change.
