ESSENDON is trying to lure Carlton-bound swingman Kristian Jaksch to their club despite his determination to get to Visy Park.
The 19-year-old Greater Western Sydney key position player‘s first preference is to get to the Blues ahead of St Kilda, but the Dons are determined to muscle into the trade.
They have made it clear to Greater Western Sydney they want the player taken at pick No.12 in 2012, and could have Port Adelaide‘s pick No.17 from a potential Patrick Ryder trade to offer.
But Jaksch is so far refusing to talk to Essendon, hopeful Carlton can get a deal done in coming days.

Meh, if he is refusing to talk to us that's a sign.
But anyhow, cue 10+ pages of WSPHU status and ludicrous trade offers..
As a hypothetical if we were able to get 2 picks from Port which became Jaksch and Giles surely that would be better than most of the scenarios bandied around.

If... that's a big IF.. the player gets the final say. If he doesn't want to come to us, he can either enter the PSD or just stay put.
Thanks AFLPA...
Why are players so sensitive about the current situation? Our players have managed to play finals, Goddard and Chappy have not dropped off drastically. How ■■■■ weak are they?
Very interesting situation. Partly because of the player type he is, but also because it’ll give gws some bargaining power if carlton refuse to use their first pick (and they will). If they throw up a second round or lower and we’re hovering with a late teen pick you know what Gws will prefer. Im very happy if we build a good relationship with Gws.
None of which is to pass judgement on how keen we should be. Have barely seen the kid.
For a young tall moving for more opportunity, Carlton and St Kilda are obviously better options than Essendon. We could definitely use him, but St Kilda and Carlton would have no choice but to play him every week.
Giants swingman Kristian Jaksch looks unlikely to get to Carlton with talks between the Blues and Giants grinding to a halt.
The door has opened for St Kilda and another Victorian club to ramp up negotiations with GWS, which has not made any progress in talks with Carlton.
You would think the Doggies be into him aswell considering they need a tall.
I’m surprised the Bulldogs haven’t gone to GWS and said “here’s our first round pick, how many talls”? If they could get Jaksch and another good tall prospect they go a long way to fixing their tall’s issues at both ends. Hell, throw in their first three picks and try and get Jaksch, Tomlinson and Frost.
