Lid OFF 2025. Bombers gettin liddy with it

That is the question.

With our best Team at the top of their game, we are good enough to win a final.

With Kelly, Menzies, Setterfield, Hind, Laverde Goldstein and Jones in the Team we are not.

Draper, Parish, Hobbs, Duursma, Redman, Caddy and Reid make a difference.

Nothing wrong with LAV and Hind’s form lately, and Menzie was one of our best last night.

Can’t disagree with Kelly and Jones and Setters will be depth soon.
Goldy will probably play better with Draper, if we can play 2 Rucks.

Menzie was a reason we lost, so ineffective. He had 20 possessions and wasted most of them.

Like Laverde who does a few good things that do not make up for all the mistakes and goals he costs.

I’m not a huge fan of Menzie.
He did show something last night that I wasn’t sure he had.

I need to watch the replay.
He is covering some ground though.

We know LAV is on borrowed time.
ATM, he is the least of our worries.

Its lid on from here on and snakes and ladders all the way.

If Laverde was any good, then he should have been on Curnow last night allowing Ridley to be the interceptor.

We missed Redman, and the back six were under pressure because Scum have two very good big guys.

Menzie is supposed to be a small forward kicking goals, but he cannot kick over a jam tin.

Menzie isn’t a good small forward.
Not enough tricks around goals, and not fast enough.

Perhaps he can make a career further up the field ?
Don’t place him in the cannon yet.

If he is not good enough to be a small forward then there is no place in the Team.

I don’t understand this logic.
Small crumbing forward requires specific skillset to be elite at.
Stengle, Rankine, Cameron all possess these traits which are easily identifiable.

Menzie does not possess these.
Other areas of the field have different requirements.
Maybe he can become a tireless runner and neat ball user.
It’s a longshot, but I want to see more first.

Logic and BBlitzers are incompatible and does not compute !!!

Strange but I’m even more lid off after last night’s game.

I am too.
I’m convinced we’re not going to drop away this year. In fact, I think we’ll improve. We can make top 4.

We can definitely beat Fark Carlton if we get another crack at them

Well taking the set back yesterday as just a bit of a fugazi up forward

Lets finish fourth.
Knock Sydney off on their home deck week 1
Home prelim.
Beat Geelong then play off in the Granny.

Looking at our remaining games I see it like this:

Par result from here:

West coast - win

Geelong, Pies and Melbourne games - 1 win

Adelaide, St Kilda, Freo and Gold Coast - 3 wins

Sydney and Brisbane - 1 win

So 6 wins in total
Anything less is disappointing.
If we keep our current form and improve our finishing then 8 more wins is a chance.

I think we will win more than that.(6)

Assuming we get players back off the bye that is and fix up a couple of deficiencies forward.

9 weeks in a row in Melbourne
Plenty of games at Marvel
Last round travel.

7-8 out of 10 is possible and would be a top 4 finish

It worked for Ned Cahill so why not.

Played down back could he become like a Caleb Daniel type?

My ladder prediction by end of round #24. I’m leading my work tips so I’m leaning in that to have us landing 3rd!!

IMO, the 8 won’t change in terms of the teams currently in there.
Only the positions will.

I don’t believe Melb will recover from their form slump in time, or losing their best player.
Gold Coast are frauds.

I’m quietly, cautiously confident that we will acquire the 5 wins needed to make the 8.

He is not on borrowed time at all. Who’s gonna push him out of the team? Reid…Ah no. Baldwin…No Chance.
