Lid OFF 2025. Bombers gettin liddy with it

As a team the Bombers are handling this mental approach to the season the best because the club Know how to handle this type of situation from it’s past.

Our defence has improved again

Our Balance across the team is better and we are playing much better as a united team.

We are even across the ground with our spread, we are covering the space around the ground aswell.

We are the best team scoring a goal or more each qtr with a depleted forward line, plus last in league for midfielders and wingers scoring goals. More evidence of a more balanced team paying for each other all contributions. We should all be licking our lips when Daniher and Stringer come into the side with Mozzie aswell

We are going to be a tough team to beat for any side this year. We are building to greatness and I still say flag 2021

Flag 2021

Lloyd’s going a bit lid off on Footy Classified. Started talking about the next Baby Bombers (list doesn’t even include Parish, Francis or McKenna too which is impressive)

Woosha might be at Adelaide next year to help out Matthew Nicks. Worsfold did say last week that he’ll have a job some where next year

Caro said that things changed when Llyod asked her that Worsfold wasn’t moving from Perth

Team has a good young core will be fantastic to pinch a flag this year or next year for guys like Hooker,Hurley etc before they hang up the boots

The big difference is that this year there is only one really weak side that you can bank on for a win. Other years, with 18 teams, Gold Coast and one or two others were really weak, but not this year. Currently 14-17 on the ladder are Fremantle, Melbourne, North and South all of whom are capable of winning against anyone.

Just realised something with us playing all these games at Metricon,Adelaide Oval etc will hold us in great shape of wining games interstate next season when it’s back to normal.

It does depend on the mix of teams. It will be interesting to see.

At one extreme, if you have 9 really strong teams, it would be possible to win 13 games and miss playing finals.(1)

Alternatively, at the other extreme it is possible to play finals winning only 5 games. (2)

I reckon a 17 round season is a good amount.

(1) Top 9 teams win all games against bottom 9 teams and 50% of games against the other teams. Positions 1-9 all have 13 wins, and 9th misses on %.

(2) Top 7 teams win all games against bottom 11 teams. Bottom 11 teams win half the games played amongst each. 8th to 18th all have 5 wins, best percentage plays finals.

For a 22 round session, it becomes possible to win 18 games and finish 9th, or win 7.5 games and play finals.

So you think this virus will end?

I suspect it may be 5 years before things are "back to normal "

And not normal as we knew it. I was listening to I think it was q and a, and someone said they didn’t expect anything to change for perhaps three years or until a vaccine which works comes onto the market.

I thought fmd, all of us have to find a way to continue to live through this. To live safely, by doing the things which have kept us safe and control what we can. Even tptb cannot control other thoughtless people who will do what they do and break the rules. It is how it is for now.

Gavin used to be called the Rubberman for his ability to bounce back from the knocks. We seem to now have the Rubberteam, with a capacity to shrug off weekly injuries, suspensions, COVID scares, travel hubs without a look backwards. If we bothered to squint into that rear vision mirror, somewhere back there would be a lid.

We are in the midst of establishing a new normal.

Word is out of China that swine flu has jumped to humans again.

There will be some SARS 3.0. No doubt covid 2X. Whatever year it breaks.

And we will need to be ready in case its as contagious as covid19

Not 5 years, likely 12-24 months away.

One of my mates is working in a team with vaccination testing at the moment. They’re confident they have the vaccination, it just needs to go through a thorough testing period. And then out to mass production.

Anyway, back to the Lid.

I’m very sceptical of our consistency as a club, which why I honestly can’t understand why anyone would already be ‘up and about’ about winning a premiership.

First step is getting into the top 4.

Second step is playing in finals matches, where we don’t look like sh*tting our pants.

I should have said ‘finishing in the top 4’

Being the top 4 now is useless, if we lose the next 5 games.

You may be right, but that is no excuse in this thread. Lose that lid, you’ll feel a lot better.

You’re doing the thread wrong mate - I’ve made a few adjustments for you to get you going. I get it mate. It’s hard to break old thought patterns, but that’s why Blitz is such a great support network.

You’re welcome.
