There was a game in 1997 against the lions up there where we picked a bunch of kids and were getting smacked early and came back and won.
Those kids were the nucleus of our 2000 team.
Now Brisbane 2025 is a lot better than the 1997 team and we didnāt finish the job tonight, but that match showed we may have a future.
This match tonight reminded me of that 1997 game a bit.
Weāve all been looking for signs and I think most people are definitely seeing some in the younger crop now

The younger guys are looking good. Injuries have been a real blessing for this club. Itās been exactly what this club has needed for years.
We need to keep hitting the draft hard and build on this young group.
