Lid OFF 2026. Not just for kicks

Life’s too short to not live with optimism. We’re all in a box in the end.

Last season was a strange one.
This season is shaping up even more so.

In my view there is only 1 team that looks fairly bullet proof, Lions.
But even they seem to fall apart at times …. Inexplicably.

As for the rest … I suspect it’s going to be a war of attrition with many falling from grace.
There is opportunity afoot … fingers crossed.
I’ve got a good feeling about this

I think we improve from last season given our list demographic with natural progression and having the right balance in the forward line.

Midfield now bats deeper and whilst there are still holes, I’m far more positive this year than last.

Wouldn’t be surprised if we notch a few more wins this year than last. Loving the media writing us off completely.

We are going to prove all the experts in the media wrong

We win 13 games, play finals and win one

I think fighting for a top 8 place is realistic.
But
If we beat that ‘Cockball’ pee and poo mob I’ll be delirious.
I’m already sick of the media fawning at anything Guru Mitchell says; ‘if you’re not fit you won’t get a game at this club’!!! Wow. I’d never have guessed.

Didnt we have a simalar season to Hawks last year one time?

I remember a season where we started slow, came home with a wet sail and charged our way to a finals spot.

We were one of the form teams of the comp in the second half of the season yet you didnt have any media or experts fawning or tipping us to win the flag the next year.

Winning is not important, as long as the players are having fun.

Correct.
We really should stop keeping score.
Back to U9’s.

I think that’s the only way someone other than Zach Merrett can win it.

With all the furore around the rescheduled GCS game into round 24, I think this is a massive benefit to us.

  • Retain our early and mid season bye
  • As we will likely finish top 4 and win the qualifying final, we will have the second week of finals bye before the prelim anyway-
  • Recent years have suggested the combined 2 byes (pre-finals bye and post qualifying final bye) isn’t helpful

Being top of the ladder in round 23 with 2 games to play surely is going to worry the rest of the comp.

Maybe we will play our vfl side vs Carlton for the lols.

I am hoping to see 14 wins-three more than last year and position 5or 6 at end of home and away and hopefully match fit at the end of home and away…then one win and….

This just goes to show the “experts” don’t have an effing clue what’s going on and who will win from week to week.
Let’s go Lid OFF and smash those Dawks!

I liked Brad’s presser.
I feel like he showed more optimism about the likelihood of success in the here and now than he has done before.
The foundations are essentially in place and we are “good to go”.
Onward and upward from here.

Let’s make a statement tonight.
Win and win Solid !!!

@carrotsalad

I fear he’s gone.

Sad news of the grate man. Hoping the Kakage can bring some fireworks to the inaugural Carrotsalad Memorial Cup.

His main account (FurryLog) has posted twice in the last 24 hours so he’s still around.
