Scott doesn’t have to win the flag or even make finals next year, but I think he does need to demonstrate that players are consistently improving and realising their potential under his watch.
I’m not convinced we’ve seen that to the required degree yet, and we obviously can’t jeopardise the high value assets we do have by just waiting and hoping.
my dads the most negative essendon supporter of all time…he said he thinks we wll make fnals if we can avoid major injury trouble this season…Zigi has spoken. LID ■■■■■■■ OFF!
Going a bit of topic. The New England Patriots in the NFL before 2025 went 4-13 in 2023/24 and 2024/25 they hadn’t made finals since Jan. 2022 this season gone they have a 14-3 record in the regular season and have reached the super bowl.
So if Essendon went 6-17 in 2025 and not making finals since 2021 then perhaps they can do the same and reach and even win the grand final. They have a young ferocious squad hunting for vengeance and a great captain in Andy Mcgrath, this could really be the year anythings possible.
look at the draft picks Roby, Farrow, Sharp all absolutely hellfire signings who I think will make a storming impact. Another thing I’ve been impressed is with the handling of the crisises in the off season and specifically the trade period when Merrett tried to go to Hawthorn. For the first time in a long time our clubs front office stood it’s ground and blocked the Hawks for getting hold of Merrett and I know I don’t really forgive Zach that much but I think by how he’s been doing in training he has moved on from the events of last September and to be fair I really respect him for that.
Now I wouldn’t class myself as a total optimist but I believe for the first time in a long time Essendon is finally a stable club again and even if we don’t quite win a final this season we’re definitely heading in the right direction. Lets get behind the lads people. Up the bombers
