Lid on 2018 - have we gone to soon? Nervously hanging out for Friday

The game is built around the concept of scoring goals or behinds to win.

While you try to stop your opposition scoring, unless you score you probably do not win.

Of course.
The most points win. That’s a fact.
And I know you can see the larger picture, too, so this is all a bit silly.

This is all my fault - I threw away a semantics line and it’s come to this.

Another fact - Least points lose.

Except in 2013

11 goals 11 behinds 77 points to 8 goals 14 behinds 62 points

Since when do you have to out score the opposition?

The best way of defending is to get the umpires to take the ball off the opposition and give it back to you.

When it’s even competition/style it really comes down to opportunity efficiency or how much you can prevent. It can be won at either end of the ground depending on the game.

That hypothesis has the advantage of being readily testable.

This thread lasts longer than the lid off thread and this thread has about 12 years on your onel

The Lid Off thread is for children.

The Lid On thread is for the dead.
