Geez how’s about saving the $ and listening to some audio books or having discussions with the myriad of people who have created in instilled successful cultures and impeccable leadership qualities in our own country.

The fact that Jay Leno is going on this trip just highlights how BDB had no ideas about leaders in football and his ■■■■■■■ captain was Voss.

We’re maintaining status quo via the draft.
I watched the Matt Rosa interview with Jobe.
And it sounds like we almost exclusively going to the draft which I’m thrilled about, no top up BS.
And
If we lose, stringer, Lav, Shiel I’ll also be happy. Because while that makes us worse next year, It will make us better because hopefully we can go inside top 4 in the draft, for the first time since Andy McGrath, before Tassie comes in
Or
something miraculous happens and our list clicks without them and we improve. Which isn’t beyond the realm of possibility, as we can find room for Harry Jones back in the forward line or Kako turns it on. Tsatas come in for Shiel. And hopefully Reid stays on the park for Lav, or we develop Hayes.

The real question is what do we look like this year round 1
We can’t look the same as we have last 5 seasons
Backline , Midfield , Forward line all need a different balance.

Martin has to be on a wing or could play in the centre , need his delivery into the forward line Duursma looked good as the defensive wingman.
The Joke that was Jones and Cox on the wings , the coach got what he deserved if he dishes it up again , we will be looking for a new coach come round 16 .
Same with the Backline, the same bunch of stat thieves have been down there for years, Hep is gone thank God , Kelly as well . Perkins needs a reset he’s strong footy smart as makes good decisions with ball in hand . Stick him on A half back flank , play him there for the season build his confidence , maybe he may become a midfielder in time.
Jones needs to be played as a key Forward if he doesn’t make it then move him on .
I haven’t included Hayes I have watched a lot of his Vfl games not sure he is an AFL level player

I can’t believe how undervalued he is on here
Also Shiel and Laverde are useful players
We have no one to replace any of those

Was Martin a deliberate omission?
Useful for what? The entire league passed on Laverde after we told him to kick rocks. Maybe one club might be interested in Shiel as steak knives in a deal. Their established market value in the league is zero.
If we can’t replace either of them, then there are a few young players who are supposed to be their replacements who should also be having their bags packed.

He helps us win too many games, we need to drop down and dip in to the top end of the draft for a couple of more years.
Also, how do we fit Stringer in with Jones, Cox, Langford and Caddy.

No Draper (given that cox is not there either) - does that mean we trade draper?
Think that is harsh on Martin, Langford, Ridley, Duursma. There are a few others I’d also rate as worth keeping, but those in particular.

Am I right in saying that in terms of main list spots, so far it’s:
Out: Heppell Hind Kelly Stringer & J.Davey
*J.Davey to rookie list (assuming this happens)
With Tex, Baldwin & Hunter off the rookie list (potentially re-rooking Baldwin).
So provided they move J.Davey to the rookie list, we’d have 5 main list spots available?
Unsure if El-Hawkins or anyone else needs to be promoted though?
As far as I’m aware Davey hasn’t actually been delisted yet, he just doesn’t have a contract yet like Weideman and Setterfield.

Actually, I think maybe Menzie needs to be put on the senior list.
I’m pretty sure the half season a mid-season rookie gets counts as their first year, so he would be a 3rd year rookie this year, meaning he’d have to be promoted. Although I vaguely recall hearing that clubs were lobbying to change it so that it was full years that counted.
So maybe he does, maybe he doesn’t.
Edit: this article says mid-season rookies will be capped at 5.5 years on the rookie list (with the 10 game rule), so I’d assume if they have played more than 10 games it would be 3.5 years, so Menzie doesn’t have to be upgraded.
