List build - where are we going in the next 10,000 posts?

Also the draft concesions they got an acadmey that produces first round talent every year

2 f/s guns in the Ashcrofts

Unfortunately we don’t get access to father-sons, so it’s unfair.

We dont get access to draft cocnecisons.

Also the AFL payed Greg Swan a ā– ā– ā– ā–  tone of money to go over to be the ceo

You wont see the AFL give us that leg up

Ohhh yes Greg Swann was a sensational player for Brisbane.

F*cking hell, keep the lame excuses coming

…and from all those low finishes, they got Clug, Raynor and Schache.

Thats it. No other top 10 picks.

They traded pick 6 for Neale in 18 or 19, but we have had plenty of picks in that range.

Think that proves the point you don’t need to bottom out to rebuild.

It gives you multiple access opportunities to the draft.

Whether that is top end of the first round, or the first look at the second round…… it’s vital to get quality access.

You can then bring a group of young players together. Not a hodge bodge of players from other clubs who have learnt different systems, and have different standards.

The best way to rebuild…… is to get as many picks, as high as you can get them.

Majority of the Hawks best side is made up of players from other clubs

I think in 3-5 years from now we’ll be including Richmond as a club who nailed the whole rebuild process and catapulted themselves back up to being a genuine contender by going that route.

The FA and trading environment is biased towards teams at the top. Geelong have utilised this particularly well to remain up there. That is obviously not an option open to us.

Teams can also do it via significant academy and/or father-son largesse. Maybe we’ll have that with the 2024 - 2027 drafts.

All other recent premiership sides indicate that you need multiple years at the pointy end of the draft plus good trading/recruitment. Melbourne, Brisbane, Richmond, WCE, etc.

FA and trading is biased towards big clubs and successful out of the way clubs, despite what some want to believe we are still a big club and attract players. Just because we have made bad choices with this benefit doesn’t mean we don’t have it.

While it is a oversimplification just look at the fact that we gave up 2 firsts for Shiel but not Dunkley, that is just an error on our part. But Dunkley still wanted to come to Essendon, even at what I would say was our lowest point in the post-saga era.

Never underestimate Luke beverages ability to completely ā– ā– ā– ā–  off and alienate his players.

Rosa doing a great job if Dodo was still in charge recon half of the outs will still be on the list

Should list SEH as an in.

We’ll probably have another half a dozen go this year seem to be turning over the list quickly.

You cannot underestimate the value of good management. It’s where it all starts. And Swan has a great track record.

Greg Swann has absolutely nothing to do with the argument regarding us doing a rebuild.

It’s Nino clutching at straws when his argument is null and void.

True - who else should be traded or delisted based on their history and what they are delivering this year? Does Parish actually still play for us? Menzie NGE and Gresh if he wants to go and is not committed to us. The list is getting shorter so does that mean we are improving.

It may just mean we’ve got a bunch of unprove speculative kids.
