Lunchtime Catch Up Podcast - tough times

Here it is!!! It’s a tough watch as Bombers fans every weekend. How can we get the obvious mental block that has overcome this group to take the game on more? We also discuss the coaching process and the names that interest us.

Mental block?

Looked to me like the switch was a coaching instruction. The sort you give a side and just say, “we are doing this every time until we make it work”.

I just don’t see an end in sight to any of this, it’s so depressing.

Thanks for fronting up each week you guys. It’s the only thing keeping me from just giving it all up.

Gotta say man. The idea of inferring Hird should accept less money than standard to prove his commitment to us is just the worst take I’ve ever heard. That man loves Essendon.

Funny, I reckon there is a lot of wisdom in it. I think it works on a whole range of levels.

Commitment to getting the club turned around effectively by reducing his salary and getring high end talent around him that we can pay under the soft cap. No one is questioning his love of the club. We are identifying his lack of recent AFL coaching experience and the enormity of the coaching role with where the club is at today. Its not a one man job such is the issues of areas to be fixed.

It was a great take.

Bizzare take, IMO. You could literally say that to any coach. If you’d want Hird to take less to allow better assistants why not the same for James Kelly or John Longmire.

The way the club blast through money they should be prepared to go over that cap anyway and pay the tax

That was the best LCP post game reaction show of the year boys. You called a spade a spade, well done and keep up the good work!

Great pod. Cheers.

On the Robey Sharp discussion. I think they must be managing loads of these two.

Both are first year players obviously, Robey had stress fractures at the start of the year, Sharp has missed time with hios shoulder. I think they just put them in the centre in the second half when the pace is off a little. It can be the only reason.

Awesome pod. I agree with letting Merrett go, as long as it’s not to Hawthorn and that he is never welcome back at the club in the future

The kinda working lunchtime catchup where you order a few wines to go with it because it’s been a stressful week (and its only monday)?

What’s happened with Dutton ?

They have advised the club they wont be renewing sponsorship end of year

Oh well

This is the consequence of being really really ■■■■.

On a positive note, we may end up with a clean jumper without the ungodly logo’s all over it.

Nice to hear from the don.

Agree with Grants rant on Jones, plus talking about parish and calders underperforming.
