The one sheet that he is reportedly getting is just the 5-10 point summary part you mention. Big bullet points for big Don.
If we are talking fundamental problems than that would be Trump himself. Everything else in the admin springs from there. “An institution is just the lengthened shadow of one man” blah blah and all that.
He’ll listen to Bolton and Lighthizer up to the moment they start telling him things he doesn’t want to hear.
Standard of course varies from President to President however the reports suggest that over the 2 years what has been provided to Trump has drifted a long way from whatever the range of standard was in the past as advisors despair at getting him to maintain focus and do the work.
The fact that these things are being leaked, along with related items like the paucity of his schedule in recent months, probably shouldn’t be celebrated but it is a warning that he is not commited to the grunt work of the job, and it is an indication of what those working for him think of him.
An unsurprisingly pathetic smear from NBC who are increasingly becoming cheerleaders for the DNC establishment.
The “expert” that the author references is a firm called ‘New Knowledge’ who had just (6 weeks ago) been caught fabricating Russian troll accounts on behalf of the Dems in the Alabama Senate race. The fact that the article doesn’t mention this is scandalous.
Don’t forget the influence of Stephen Miller, he would be behind most of Trump’s border security policy and messaging.
The problem Trump has faced, as far as recruiting the right people, is the fact that many qualified people don’t want to work for him, and that, of those who do, most have their own agenda’s which they are trying to sneak through or past him.
It specifically calls out the following:
“Since Gabbard announced her intention to run on Jan. 11, there have been at least 20 Gabbard stories on three major Moscow-based English-language websites affiliated with or supportive of the Russian government: RT, the Russian-owned TV outlet; Sputnik News, a radio outlet; and Russia Insider, a blog that experts say closely follows the Kremlin line. The CIA has called RT and Sputnik part of “Russia’s state-run propaganda machine.””
I will get to the point. RT, Sputnik, or any other Putin-driven media are not exactly paragons of virtue. They don’t ‘support’ a story, candidate, policy unless it is in Putin’s interest. And, his interest is the annihilation of western democracy, alliances, and prosperity.
I’d say Putin’s goal is holding onto his wealth and life, and to achieve that end, in the midst of his economy collapsing because of western sanctions (and probably general corruption in his state), he must desperately poke and undermine the West until the sanctions are lifted.
