Obama’s ‘deal’ freed up a conservative 50 billion - yes Billion !!! - for the Iranians. And what did they get in return? SFA.
And let’s not forget the 400m they handed over to Iran to release the hostages.
I cannot believe people on here are defending the Iranian regime. It’s a totalitarian government that has turned a vibrant country into something from the 18th century.

Ah, the USA (and the world) got access to Iran’s nuclear program and agreements on what Iran would/wouldn’t do in the program. There was also the simple reality that those sanctions you harp on about needed Russian and Chinese involvement to continue. Both countries had made it very clear that if the Iranian deal wasn’t made in good faith, they would revoke the sanctions, effectively negating the stick entirely. In that context, it was a very good deal.
Of course, the Republicans are the fanbois of ignoring context that doesn’t suit them.
You mean the Iranian regime that committed torture on its citizens, and was a total dictatorship? That one? Iran has a HUGE number of issues. But on the democracy stakes, it comes I think 4th in the middle east (Israel, Turkey, Egypt? are ahead). In a number of areas, before Bush’s whole “axis of evil” and a few other comments, was far more liberal than many countries in the middle east, and was becoming more so under reforms. But we can thank Bush for giving the regime the excuse to pivot back to the right.

I’m curious where the line is for Republican support of Trump. When Nixon was impeached he still had 25% approval. That’s 1 in 4 who supported a convicted criminal, in a time with far less partisanship. What would it take for someone like Trip to turn against the Republican President? I suspect a significant portion of the population will twist, distort, overlook and distract to avoid making that decision.
Trump could grab Trip’s wife by the P*ssy and he would still enjoy Trip’s support. Might even garner more support.

Sure, if you think dismantling a public health system, giving tax breaks to the mega-wealthy, removing environmental protections, making it easier for the mentally unwell to buy guns, pulling out of Paris agreement, alienating allies, strengthening / provoking enemies, lying / bragging constantly, appointing incompetents, supporting a peodo candidate, legitimising neo-Nazis, sacking Comey mid-investigation, conducting international diplomacy by chanelling Fox via Twitter, arming the Saudis to the teeth is all good.
