Mark Chopper Reid has passed away

Once got clipped hoping off a tram in brunswick by a car - was fairly light but scared me as I had been collected and taken to hospital the year before the same way - Shock turned to anger and I kicked the ■■■■ out of the front of the car - looked up and saw it was Mr Reid looking at me and I basically bolted...

Did the Herald Sun honour him with a lift out poster? Or are they reserving that right for Mick Gattp?

Gets at least a little credit for knocking back a liver transplant because he "doesn't deserve it"

You don't knock back liver transplants. You're put on a list. Even if he was on the list, I doubt he'd even be up that high to even knock an offer back.

reboot went ape.

You stepped vey carefully around Mutley. Not because you were scared of him, but because those sorts of guys are dangerous, unpredictable, unbalanced nutters. People like that will hand you a beer, stand and drink with you, and then shoot you in the back as you leave. Then they'll send your wife condolences and turn up at your funeral claiming friendship. Glad the thing is gone.

And all that "I only attacked the heavies" rubbish was mainly just that. He did go the odd genuine nasty prick, but he was way more prone to standing over timid wannabes than the real deal. But when people like A Current Affair and the like are willing to help you manufacture a new "hey I'm really just a modern Ned Kelly, get behind the romance" image, you get to rewrite history any way you like.,

how close was the movie to the real thing reboot?

Haven't seen the movie.

Never will.

Bit tough on N Bartos.

FWIW an older guy I knew who used to turn over houses in Sydney at the time seemed to think it was pretty accurate

Didn't CHopper himself say the movie wasn't close to real life?  I remember him saying he feels like he's more well known for stuff Eric Bana did rather than stuff he actually did.

I'm pretty sure he knocked it back.

I knew him a little from drinking at the Leinster. His kid would play with my kid. I just hoped like hell my kid didn't push over his kid and stuff like that.

His kid also did Auskick with mine. Chopper would wear slippers. I always wondered why. It was so he could sneak up on people when they were talking about him. He was the shuffling ninja.

I have a very very funny story about chopper and a canary that I witnessed at the Leinster. Funniest thing I have ever seen. If I ever see any of you in real life I'll tell you.

When he moved to Gold street in collingwood it became the safest street in Melbourne.

The 60 minutes piece was good. For once and actual good interview.

JUST TYPE THE DAMN STORY

Bit tough on N Bartos.

ive been calling my next door neighbour nev that in front of my three year old for the best part of a year. not sure where I remembered the name from, just knew id heard it somewhere.

nev's a good sort but a bit conservative. sam-olds called him Neville Bartos to his face yesterday. I think from nevs bemused expression he may have some idea who is alter ego may be.

not sure I'm getting the annual xmas sherry this year.

there would also be some irony should my dog get poisoned in the near future also.
