Mason and Max - gridiron men

I am sooooooo bored of that black balloon ad.

But it’s worth it. I always love Hurley’s “wait, this numpty is serious?” look.

So, he’s going to be a ruckman, right?

For the first quarter of his AFL career, yes.

Pretty sure everyone is on the same page at afl house to keep it. Its a great rule. Also lucrative for clubs

I don’t get that sense at all.
I get the sense that the AFL want it abolished as it only really serves the Victorian clubs.

Only now are we starting to see it cater the older interstate clubs.

I Even get the feeling there are a handful of Essendon supporters who are sceptical and looking for flaws in father/son recruits, and would rather we hit the draft. Even abit jealously or tall poppy syndrome that these kids have an easy ride because they were born into their opportunity. Which I think is ridiculous.

Yeh Father/Son has really been a bummer for the Bombers.

Joe Daniher
Dustin Fletcher
Jobe Watson

Reckon those three make up for any others who didn’t cut it, though any Father/Son who got a game makes it in my eyes.

Is there a Father/Daughter rule? Serious question.

yep

THE AFL has developed a father-daughter rule ahead of the upcoming Sign and Trade Period in the NAB AFL Women’s Competition.

After the success of its inaugural year, the League outlined its rules for the 2018 season, with the creation of the father-daughter rule a key element.

The father must have played at least one AFL game for his club for it to have first access to his daughter at the women’s draft, which will be held in mid-October to finalise list spots.

The women’s trade period will run from May 15-26, while the free agency period will take place between May 29-June 1.

The establishment of the father-daughter rule was among a raft of list regulations detailed to clubs on Wednesday, including:

  • Club lists will remain at 27 senior players with three rookie spots available
  • Clubs can re-sign a maximum of 22 players from this year, meaning there will be a turnover of at least five senior spots at each club
  • Players can be traded with the consent of the AFL, all players and clubs involved in the deal
  • Trades can involve multiple players for one player, and can also involve multiple clubs
  • Selections for this year’s draft can be traded as part of deals, however future selections for the 2019 draft can not be traded.

But what month was he born in, because he obviously isn’t going to make it due to his hair cut.

because he looks like Chevy Chase

If he plays half the games his dad did, he would be a club life member.

Thanks for this, happy days!

Now we just need a team

Hope Mason gets that other Fletch attribute of Hand Eye Shake the Goal Post when Goal Umpire is distracted skill…Luvs ya Fletchers…

Can we sign him up like with did with Daniher and then pick him in the draft? be good if he can train at the club for the year will already have a pre seaon under his belt heading into 2019.

So they would want to scrap it now that the established interstate clubs can finally use and benefit from it properly? That makes no sense

You would think the AFL and clubs would be in favour of the proper father son rule as opposed to the convoluted state league games system that they’ve had in the past.

Regardless of what the WA and SA fans think. The AFL care as much about SA and WA, as they do Victoria. It’s Established football states. There’s nothing to prove.

The academy’s serve more benefit to Sydney and Brisbane, than father-son opportunities.

The AFL want it gone, so players like Joe Daniher arnt tied up to one club for their whole career, like he will be.

I don’t see the similarity
