Match review vs Fark Carlton - same old crap

Not developed 1 fkn ruck in the seniors nor a CHF or FF in the last 3 years.

And 2 stale key defenders who still haven’t been phased out.

This club on the field is dead for another 5 years.

Brilliant @ivan every point is spot on. The best summation I’ve read and without unnecessarily bagging players.

The fear I think everyone has is that all your pints are so obvious, but the club won’t do any of it until the back half of the season and it’s too late.

now next week people will calling for ambrose to come in…you cant play ambrose hooker hurley francis ridley all in the back line…

ive said it we are too tall and slow with those and without mckenna…

we played 7 defenders last night

hurley hooker redman gleeson redman saad francis… no wonder we had nobody forward…

if they cant see we are a tall short in the forward line then my laser eye surgery was a complete waste of my money time and surgeons skill!

Hurley is done. Slow, zero confidence
Hooked is done. Moving as well as my nan.
Zaka is beyond done.
TBC has been done for 3 years.
Continue to pick these guys week in week out then we will continue to get the same mediocre results. Club is too soft to upset these players for the greater good, so just pay your membership people and accept it.

Really how far Gleeson can kick the ball?
How about a forward making a lead for Gleeson to kick to?

5 could be being generous.
ambrose is 28 odd, so that leaves francis and thatcher as the only young backman at the club.
now while he is looking good, if he fails, there’s no one else.
there’s 2 years left on hurleys contract and hooker is here til next year. that gives them 1-2 years to rectify this by either drafting or trading in backman on the fly.

they’ve put all their eggs into the Daniher basket Re forwards, and he wanted out last year, and there’s no guarantee he’ll stay, let alone get out on the park. Granted they obviously started the process last year with jones, but who knows what he can or could be.

So the only way out of it in the short term is trading, but to do that you’d have to get rid of hurley and or hooker, but you can’t.

If they get it wrong, like i said 5 years is being very generous.

If Myers hadn’t retired last season, he would still be starting 22 this season.

Let that sink in…

Anyone who knows me knows that’s what you get and it rarely has filter.

The thing is, I’d feel the same had Townsend’s kick sailed through and we got a 4pt win. We were dominated by a bottom 6 team with two Kent Kingsley like shitt trucks dominating up forward combining for 5 goals including two they kicked out of their red wrinkled shitt shooters. The frustrating thing is we allowed it to happen. Again. Nothing has changed with this club and that’s the galling part unfortunately. That match last night sums up EFC over the past 15 years.

i think you’ve misinterpreted the intent of my post.
I wasn’t having a crack at gleeson, like i said i was having a dig at the 7 players who like you say didn’t lead, or didn’t even move over to the part of the ground a long kick would have gone.

hence the, how far are they expecting him, or anyone else for that matter to kick it, cos to even get the ball to where tippa is in the pic, is probably 60 meters, and the ball shouldn’t be going there, it should be going to the guy near the boundary with his arm up.

so that’s what i meant by, how far do they think he is gonna kick it

Great moment to pick, complained to the wife about what was about to obviously happen, she still remained apathetic to my pain, just a pretend well done when I said “see see!”

No less than 9 EFC players in between goal square and centre square all thinking, someone else will do the hard work and het me the easy next pass across for the goal if i just stand here for a bit…

And the coach has now publically said in the presser that we’re in the same place as FC from a list and gameplan perspective. What are we supposed to make of that?

Stagnant forward lines has been our Achilles heal for some time now.

For the record Carlton played on from a mark 35% of the time compared to Essendon 17%.

This. If Rutten wants to be the coach and take this place forward, he had better not have slept a wink last night and gotten up ready to bust into this team starting today - no more gifting games, no more lack of developing players that will take us forward or who won’t implement your game plan, no more playing young players out of their best position. We are and have been so terrible for too long - at EFC your name should mean NOTHING at this point.

The truth is out there … :worried:

Learning. Gelling.

Saw a few situations where there was a heap of space but no leads. Is this a trust thing on both ends - the forwards don’t trust the skills of the ball carrier to kick it properly and the ball carrier doesn’t trust the forwards to run at the incoming ball.

My solution would be for the mids to kick into space and force the forwards to run at it. At worst they end up in a one-on-one scrap for a ground ball which has to be better than a ball on Tippas head or a straight kick to one of their multiple free men.

Its a great snapshot, not one of our players in that circle around Walsh are on the inside of their opponent. Is it laziness or smarts that causes that?

This was one of the first things I can remember learning from my coach from playing football in under 10’s. 8 of our players have failed an under 10 instruction.

Rutten seemed pretty animated at the 3qrt time huddle.

Trying to look for a positive maybe Woosh was coaching for 3qrts and then Truck took over in the last and almost pinched the game due to his coaching

Seriously dude?
