I farking hate football now. I used to look forward to the weekend, now I wish I could flick a switch so I don’t care anymore. Every season brings a new excuse, we don’t get anywhere, no improvement, just the odd false dawn when we all think the club has turned the corner, only to be drummed back into our place as a laughing stock. We don’t just get beaten, we get farking pummelled.
What’s the point of it all? Fark it I’m going out, I’ve had enough of this ■■■■.
We seem to lose one on ones all over the ground.
Horrible disposal and turnovers all day.
Joe D was good and provided a good target, Melksham and Hibberd are triera and that’s about it.
To see those tin rattlers so up and about was almost the end for me today, it was like they won the granny
It's more that he does run hard when he might get a kick. He's choosing when to go.Extenuating circumstances right now, but that doesn't excuse disinterested efforts. I'd drop him, if only for the example.Unfortunately AgreeSpent the second half on Zaka Watch. Geez talk about playing like you're an automatic selection. Runs ■■■■■■ hard when he might get a kick, slow jog around the rest of the time. Didn't see him run hard to create an option or to push into space once. Lost count of the amount of times the play went past him. Did basically nothing. Also blasted Hibberd for not giving him a handball while play was still going, then when the stoppage was called turned around and kept going. Ordinary from someone who's meant to be a senior player.
Drop him or put him in the green vest. ■■■■■■ ordinary for weeks.
I want two things to happen in the next month
EFC defeats AFL in the big off field stoush
Leroy to leave
I love Zaka but my God he was horrible today. Has been for too long now. If you’re not right, don’t play. But if you’re fit and good to go, you simply have to put in better defensive efforts than that - especially when you’re not hurting the opposition offensively.
Pears was terrible, Jobe had the fumbles, Hardy still makes the same shocking mistakes, Howlett had no influence (zero tackles!? WTF) and we desperately needed support for Joe up forward (Hille had to play).
Positives were Melksham’s continued solid year and I liked the look of Dalgleish. Not sure what NOB’s role was but he did SFA too.
Any update on the Heppell injury? I didn’t see what happened or how bad it was?
Hopefully we’ll see all of Hurley, Myers and Ryder back in the side next week.
Cooked.
Forget the next two weeks, set ourselves for one big go in week 1, who knows we might even get a chance to end Collingwood or Richmonds season.
That's it really.
Put together a program over the next 20 days that will give our players a chance to perform.
Rest players next week who have had a reasonable load (Goddard, Melk, Belly)
Make a decision about who can assist us win a Final, and who cannot.
Clearly, there is no place for Jetta in a Final.
Sadly, Hardinghams goal kicking is diabolical.
What's the point of him winning the ball.
I'm not sure what to do with Pears after today.
Can only see him playing with Fletch in the side so that he does not have to play tall.
Just get Winderlich up for the Final.
I'd like to risk Dempsey also, but with so many injury prone players, we could easily be the first team ever to lose 3 or more players in the first half of a Final.
Hense, I'd doubt we see Dempsey until Week 2 (LOL)
Really disappointing we couldn't pump more games into Kav and Browne this year.
There have been reasons for it.
Perhaps next year they will emerge.
Carlton are right back in the hunt for Finals.
Would be great to end their season next week, but our only priority is physically getting the players up for the 7th of September, even if that means an 8 goal loss to the Blues (GULP).
Pity we didn't get Hille to 200.
Blitzer ' Bring Back Max Crow' suggested it after the Collingwood drubbing.
He could have played the last 4 rounds, thus resting our 2 Ruckmen leading into the Finals.
I love footy, and will always be interested as a neutral observer, but I can't get excited about us until we are playing our best footy between Round 18 and the Grand Final.
getting harder to stay positive.we would have trouble beating bottom 4 at the moment
Midfield back to their down hill skiing best. Slow enough as it is we cant have players like Stanton, Zaka and Howlett putting in half arsed efforts defensively, especially with Jobe playing with his injury. Trade some talls for pacy midfielders. We need more selection pressure.
We're a mentally shot set of witches hats.
That's unfair on witches hats.
If i was the TRB i would honestly do this what else do we have to lose?
In: Hille, Fletcher, Hurley, NatRat, Myers, Browne, Hams,
Out: Pears, Daniher, Zaka, Howlett, Jetta, Hepell, O'brien,
The boys are cooked. They're mentally shot and have lost all confidence. I don't blame them at all. By round 12 we'd already played a season of footy and about 3 finals series with all the pressure they've been under.
I still think we really lack elite kicking skills out of defense which is why Hurls has to go back. So much of attack is generated from defense and it's killing us. We don't break the lines through taking the game on whether it be via kicking or running skills. The opposition are setting up against us with an extra behind the ball and due to us being predictable, it's really easy to defend against.
Our clearance work is messy because we lack foot speed to get to the outside of the contest. So we win the ball from a clearance situation and just bang it forward, opposition sets up an extra in defense and we're screwed. It's just way too predictable for opposition defenses.
I like the look of Dalgleish. Has run and carry and is a good kick.
Melksham is coming along in leaps and bounds. JD has to play, it's not about this year, it's about next year.
TRB have some very difficult decisions to make at the end of the year re personnel.
The question must be asked why year after year we seem to be cooked come this time of the year.
How can a team go from being a top 4 team to a bottom 4 team come seasons end.
We can blame the ongoing difficult season they have had to endure BUT seriously, it was the asked last year and the year before… We just seem to run out of legs for the last month plus of football.
Are we training too hard too early?
Has the TRB backed off training loads ?
Are the younger guys running out of steam?
A common theme year after year…
If i was the TRB i would honestly do this what else do we have to lose?

Cooked and no wonder..............but ■■■■■ they are crap
Team and individually cooked
Coaches cooked
The end cant come quick enough for them and me
Just like last year.
And the year before.
And the year before that.
And the year before that.
And the year before that.
And the year before that.
And the year before that.
And the year before that.
JD looked impressive around the ground too. Few cheap possessions here and there got him right into the game. When he kicks straight and a bit of a bigger frame will be very impressive.
Nauseatingly poor performance.
Let's not sugar-coat it.... the entire football club is a God-awful mess. Everyone knows it. Everyone knows why.
But I'm getting sick and tired of this being used as an excuse for the on-field product, which is nothing short of abysmal, right now.
Hird clearly does not have his mind on the job, and that is understandable. But I'm getting the sense that the players do not either, and that is a problem. I don't know what the solution is... perhaps controversial, but maybe Hirdy should give up the reigns, at least temporarily, so he can go fight his legal battles with his full, undivided attention and leave the coaching to Bomber or someone else. The football has clearly taken a back seat to everything else.
I think I've probably watched my last match for this year. I get no enjoyment out of watching these guys go through the motions. I had hoped that they would show their embattled coach a bit more respect by playing their guts out for him, but it doesn't appear to be happening.

My mistake forgot it was 2.
But seriously the TRB need to really change it up / shake it up. Give players different roles - make them more accountable, change the game plan just do something drastic. Play ryder CHB, crameri in the middle bring in the senior players at the club hille and natrat and give players such as browne, van unen and hams some games. We have far too many complacent players in our team at the moment there is no point making 1-2 changes for next week and losing again by 40-50 points.
I was not surprised after last week as north are a better side than w/c,what I can’t accept is the same ending as last 4 years(regardless of problems).
Why supporters care about loosing our points amazes me since the PLAYERS DON’T CARE ABOUT FINALS,SAVE THE FARKEN DRAFT PICKS!
Things aren't just magically going to click for us in the finals. You think we'll be any chance after two consecutive hammerings from Richmond and Carlton?I'm all for this.Cooked.
Forget the next two weeks, set ourselves for one big go in week 1, who knows we might even get a chance to end Collingwood or Richmonds season.
Well we can just cruise along and get smashed by them anyway, and we'll still lose in week 1.
We've got nothing to lose, we look done, the one positive we have is that we've already secured a finals spot.
So I reckon change it up. Forget training, change things around, rest some players, do something to relax everyone and just set our sights on the final. End of the day we can get smashed anyway and it makes no difference. Nothing to lose.
If we just keep plugging away as usual we know what will happen, we saw it last year. Worth trading that to experiment with something different. If they can somehow freshen them up mentally then there's a huge reward for the club, a big finals win over a rival would be huge for this club atm.
So thats 3 years in a row we have turned into laughing stocks............this year we have a an excuse because no team could keep going with the ■■■■■ that is happening at the club.
But.............maybe this drug saga galvanised us so much early in the season that we played at our absolute maximum which got us over the line in a few close games........Freo,Eagles, Bloos etc
Our form the last 10 weeks has been very ordinary including the 6 in a row we won prior to Hawks match
Maybe, just maybe, we are not that good
