Lattrell Pickett - Not eligible for MSD< but will be one to watch for end of year - cousin of Kossie Pickett, will take an exemption for him to be available - at Glenelg - thoughts @aceman
Crossley hasn’t nominated 18 months
Re whether to draft a ruck, and if so who.
There is no point in drafting to cover our current injury situation (my opinion, even though I hear what @noobermensch says).
First consideration - will we retain both Draper and Bryan? If so, we would enter next year with those 2 plus Vigo, and retire Goldy. Is that enough? Probably not. But what is needed is a backup, not another project like Vigo.
So who is the best medium term backup we can get, and can we get a satisfactory one now, or will we be able to lure one from another club at end year?
This is the way we should be looking at it.
Houli, we wont be taking McMahon or Crossley. they aint great even as top ups.
Who are we getting then?
Jaxon Artemis - dashing HBF
Clancy Dennis - KPD
Leon Kickett - Small forward
Aaron Clarke - 25 Year old KPF
Sam Toner - Richmond VFL Forward
I notice that Smart, Allessio and Krueger have all nominated 18 month contracts. This suggests that they may have had discussions with a club and have had some indication the club will take them, not guaranteed but makes it interesting.
If we get Smartt, we are getting REID.
If we get Smart then we get 10% slower onfield.
They mentioned him on gettable too.
27, the definition of a slow developer.
Agree, hope we loose to the tigers…so Brad and the team realise we have bigger problems, and don’t waste a ruck pick for some plodder
Getting another ruckman should be pretty low on our list of requirements, as long as we play Wright at permanent KPF and use Vigo to back Goldstein up…
We need two mids who are fast, who are good kicks and who run both ways.
We need a half-forward who can take a contested mark and kick straight, who will defend when the opposition gains possession, and who will turn up every game, not go missing three weeks out of four, like the man he should be replacing.
If necessary, and if a suitable candidate is available, we should go for a swingman like Hooker, an all-purpose KPF/KPD/ruck.
I prefer him over Crossley. Can get him with our 3rd pick too.
Use our first two pickd on other needs/best available
That round 2 game would have been a lot of fantasy points.
27 disposals, 6 Marks, 9 Tackles, 45 Hit outs 4 FF 3 FA 2 behinds.
This doesn’t surprise me. Easily the player from our VFL program with the best AFL attributes - quick, agile, pretty tough, penetrating left boot. Also still young.
My question would be on his disposal efficiency and decision making which can be off at times.
Great competitor.
His kicking is a real concern tho.
And if Hawthorn takes him?
