That probably tells you something though. To love FDR and CVR would likely mean you’ve lost some sort of power, or similar major failure. Put that together with the pieces and the damage and they’ll come up with a hypothesis.

Possible bird strike still makes sense.

The bird strike is almost certain. What appears to have happened is that both engines stopped generating power. Were both lost due to separate bird strikes (aka Sully’s Airbus into the Hudson) or did the pilots shut down the wrong engine?

Sydney airport closed stacking them above Canberra international and domestic good luck with that

Storm still going here in Sydney biggest one we have had a while

How not to land a Citation. The runway was only 960m long and 300m was unavailable.

@Aceman thoughts?

100% agree with the sentiments and have said this for some time. These little nations operating tin pot airlines are a massive burden financially and just unrealistic. Either band together and create a Pacific Airways where you can pool resources or just leave it up to the bigger operators in Australia and NZ

F35 just went down in Alaska. Pilot survived. It won’t buff out.

South korean Airlines not having the best of times

Accident: Busan A321 at Busan on Jan 28th 2025, fire during departure preparations

An Air Busan Airbus A321-200, registration HL-7763 performing flight BX-391 from Busan (South Korea) to Hong Kong (China) with 169 passengers and 6 crew and one maintenance engineer, was preparing for departure from Busan when a fire broke out in the back of the cabin. The aircraft was evacuated via slides resulting in 4 minor injuries. The fire was extinguished about 75 minutes later, however, the fire had already broken through the crown of the aircraft. The aircraft was destroyed.

South Korea’s Ministry of Transport reported emergency services were doing everything they could to save the A321-200 HL-7763 flight BX-391. The exact cause of the fire is being investigated.

That’s initiative is working but doesn’t help those in the wider Pacific. Far too much national pride amongst the smaller nations which should be pooling their resources.
Vanuatu is absolutely better off with Virgin and Qantas serving them than their own national carrier and others are in the same boat

Wow…that vid seems to show the aircraft on the left heading straight at the one on the right.

I realise that it might just be the angle that the video was shot at but it’s a scary prospect.

Helicopter does appear to fly straight at the aircraft

Reportedly the helo was a Blackhawk over Joint Base Anacostia

PAT25” is typically a US Army VIP transport (“Priority Air Travel”), and would be a Blackhawk
