Mlb 2013

Braves up to 14 in a row. 4-run first inning kept them safe as Beachy shut out the Marlins.

Tigers caught up to the Yanks in the top of the 9th on a blown save bt Mariano Rivera but lost it in the bottom half.

Royals had won 14 of 16 and lost half a game in the standings. Caught up a game with a 6-run innings to come from 6-3 down against the Red Sox.

Giants keep on keeping on (losing that is). What a crappy season!

Red Sox are killing it..Victorino smashing the orioles yesterday...Solid come from behind win today to win that series.

Nats are on a big tear...won a few in a row, but still 13 behind with 30 to play.

Braves have picked up Freddy Garcia, but I don't think they've brought him up yet...still doing well with the rotation of Maholm, Medlen, Teheran, Beachy, Minor and Wood (Beachy missing a couple of starts with a sore arm), but the bullpen is out of this world. Most ERAs are less than 2, Kimbrel's went under 1 today...plus the W on Chris Johnson's walk-off single.

Elliott Johnson was brought in on waivers from KC to replace Uggla (who came back from the DL today), and hit a 2-run triple yesterday for the only runs of the game.

Chris Davis 4 HRs in front of Cabrera trying to deny him the chance of being the first player in history to win successive triple crowns. Cabrera is so far in front on BA it's not funny, and ahead on RBIs.

Davis is having a great season

Cabrera's done some damage to his abdominals coming into 2nd. Dunno how long he'll miss.

He's 10 in front of Davis on the RBI...130-120.

And ahead of Mike Trout on BA .359 to .331

Oh the heartbreak. In a season with so little joy for my Giants, Yusmeiro Petit, a career 12-20 pitcher comes less than a metre from pitching a perfect game. In the 9th with 2 outs a fly ball drops in front of Pence for Arizona's only hit of the game.

Saw that, DM. Poor Hunter Pence, looked shattered.

Worse was the guy who had his perfecto screwed up by a badly blown call at first. Like the other guy who pitched a perfecto last year, his career is down the toilet. Pitching a perfect game doesn't make you a great pitcher...just means you had one special day...although nearly all the other 20-odd guys who've pitched one are recognised champions over their whole career.

Great series by Boston v Yankees...Saturday mornings game was unreal...4-8 in the 7th...Then BAM grand slam...followed up by another 4 runs to win 12-8...Then yesterday smashed it 13-9. Napoli, Gomes, Victorino and Middlesbrook all killing it! Not ot mention old reliable big Papi

Lead the AL East by 7.5 games with less then 20 to play, almost starting to look forward to the playoffs after watching the team go downhill from the end of 2011 and all of the 2012 season.

Big week...rays and yankees followed up by Orioles

Braves will want to get their bats in order...still with 2 regulars hitting in the 180s.

Only 2 hits against Hamels today...both Gattis homers, and apparently a third just got held up in the wind. Lost all 3 games by a run this weekend.

Yanks are terrible this season, one of the most disappointing seasons in the last 20 years. Need some big changes in the off season, ive written this season off, no hope of even getting a wildcard spot.

Lots of injuries...Jeter, Teixeira, Granderson...plus the A-Roid kerfuffle.

Teixeira has really hurt but I think we have plenty of offensive firepower. We dont have trouble scoring but opposition sides seem to get a hold of us more easily this year, been really disappointed with our pitchers this year, need to recruit solidly on the off season, Pettitte and CC in particular have been very ordinary this year, still not sold on Nova either

The other day they were saying the Yankees hadn't lost 2 in a row where they scored 8+ since 1949, and they went and did it again the next day.
Rivera's blown a couple of saves...Hughes and Joba have given up leads.

With the NL looking done it dusted it is game on in the AL

6 sides fighting for the 2 WC spots, currently:

Rangers 81-64

Rays 78-66

Yankees 78-66

O’s 77-68

Indians 77-68

Royals 77-69

Couple of massive series coming up, Yanks need to pinch something from the 3 games against the Bosox

3 straight v Yanks...Unbeatable at the moment Boston
