Angels no-hit the Mariners 13-0 with 6 RBI from Trout.
Yanks win, Red Sox beat the Dodgers, Nats beat the Phils
Braves beat the Padres 5-3 in San Diego behind Dallas Keuchel…2 homers from Donaldson (4 RBI) and Acuña (455’) and 1 from Machado.
Lots of interest coming with the trade deadline on 31 July. Everyone wants pitchers. Teams with pitchers coming up on free agency will be licking their lips.
Yanks lose 2-1 to Toronto.
Dodgers whop the Red Sox.
Nats come from behind to beat the Phils.
Rays and Orioles split a double-header.
Cubs flog the Bucs.
Trout hits his 30th for the Angels to win 9-2 over the M’s
Braves were nip and tuck in San Diego all game - homers to Donaldson and Acuña again with one to Machado. Goes into extras, and Flowers breaks it open with a 2-run double to lead 7-4. Machado hits another and the bases are filled before the final out, the pitcher (?) strikes out. Jackson still makes me very nervous when he’s holding a small lead. Walks far too many, often from having an 0-2 count.
Freddie just opened the scoring with a 3-run shot in Milwaukee.
Dodgers whopping the Phils in Philly, 7-1.
Rays beat the Yanks 5-4 with all their runs coming from ex-Mets catcher Travis d’Arnaud with 3 homers, including a 3-run shot off Chapman in the 9th. Encarnación had 2 homers.
Braves won 4-2 over the Brew Crew. Biggest surprise was Luke Jackson not giving up any walks in the 9th. Had guys 0-2 and instead of walking them, struck them out.
Dodgers 16-2 over the Phils.
Sox 10-8 over the Jays with Chavis’s first salami.
Braves showed how important it is to sign a couple of pitchers. One of the three quality starters in Max Fried goes on the IL and they lose 13-1 in Milwaukee. Yelich grand slam highlighting the Brewers’ scoring.
Yanks score 6 in the 8th to beat the Rays 8-3.
Harper drives in 2 in the 9th to walk off the Dodgers.
Red Sox lose again.
Only 3 trades so far…2 SP’s and a C. None massive.
Imagine doing that to the bald-headed flog. You wouldn’t get another free for the season.
Braves taking an early kicking vs Strasberg. Took a 1-0 lead into the 3rd, came out with an 8-1 deficit with Strasberg getting 2 hits including a 3-run homer. They may have decided to sacrifice a start with a rookie v Strasberg and let the better pitchers pitch against the other Nats starters, but these plans can easily come unstuck.
Yanks comfortably on an Encarnación slam.
Phils win, Red Sox lose to the O’s 11-2.
Braves led 3-1 with 2 out in the 9th…Robles 2-run homer…then the Braves loaded the bases with none out and Donaldson drove in the winner with a single to the warning track. Drawn-in outfield helps but it would have been at least a sac fly.
Astros won 4-3.
A few early ejections for the Reds in a 12-11 loss to the Cards.
Braves came into the last day of a 4-game series against the Nats down 2 games to 1 and with Kevin Gausman back from the IL and a poor start to the season. Pitched 7 plus for Atlanta to win 7-1, Donaldson and Acuña no-doubters. If he can keep it up, and if Foltynewicz can return to his form of 2018, that might lessen the pitching shortcomings.
Rockies broke their 6-game losing streak beating the Yanks 8-4. Both clubs led off with a homer.
Andrew Cashner was traded from Baltimore to Boston a week ago, and returned today, losing 5-0. Red Sox cannot get on a roll.
Giants won on their third walk-off hit in 4 games v the Mets. Red Sox great Carl Yaztremski’s grandson with the winning homer.
Phils beat the Pirates 2-1 in the 11th.
And Cooperstown had HOF induction day, with Mariano Rivera closing out the presentations, a position he’s used to.
Disgraceful, @DonMania. Watched the last two innings vs the Cubs, expecting to see a walk-off Giants win, and they scored 3 in the 8th to take a 5-4 lead and hold on.
