There seems to be an expectation that SS Francisco Lindor will be traded.
There are ads on ESPN saying he thinks he should be regarded as the best player in baseball. He’s good, but is he as good as Trout, Betts, any of 10 others.
Padres have picked up pitchers Yu Darvish and Blake Snell from the Cubs and Rays respectively. Really only lost pitcher Zach Davies. Also grabbed the Cubs’ reserve catcher Victor Caratini.
NL West will be hell outside the Southland.

Australian closer Liam Hendriks has moved to the White Sox for a guaranteed $54m over 3 years.
And Lindor and SP Carlos Carrasco have moved to the Mets in exchange for Amed Rosario, a couple of prospects and some dude I don’t know. Lindor has only one-year left on his contract.

Shame to lose him but it is bound to happen with us still being one of the smaller salaried teams despite this increasing a lot over the past 5-6 years.
