Ohtani’s power is ridiculous. What a player.
Padres lost to the Cubs 3-1.
Season on the line now. I’m going to go curl up in a ball.
Oh, the Cubs…. we can’t have that.
Tigers vs Guardians was a cracking game. Skubal had 14 Ks across 7 2/3 innings.
Padres drink too much of their own bathwater.
Man I wish this all didn’t start so early in the morning!
Yankees, San Diego and Cleveland all win to stay alive and force a decider
Mason Miller 104.5MPH Fast Ball!!
Dodgers pulling away now with a massive innings.
Reds had a massive chance with bases loaded and no outs, but Yamamoto came up clutch.
Cubs go through
Yankees score 4 in the 4th for a 4-0 lead
grumble
After watching cubs v padres, Darvish got yanked in the 2nd innings, and through the match, all pitchers on a short leash. Admittedly Padres pen is unreal, but surprised Red Sox left their starter in so long
They removed Early late ![]()
Yankees through
Schlittler was phenomenal
Eat a bag, BoSox!
San Diego was stitched up in that game.
I knew they wouldn’t win - they have been drinking their own bathwater too long, especially “Pretty Boy” Tatis.
But it looked like the umpires had instructions. The second base maggot clearly gave EARLY and INCORRECT calls that Cubs had stolen bases. We could see with what John Madden called “raw eyes” (ie without videao replays) that the calls were early (before the player had even touched base) and were wrong. The NY reviewers agreed and overruled him.
That set up the final innings. The home plate maggot had tried to get Tatis struck out by repeatedly appealing to the first base umpire for a strike when obviously he had not gone round.
Not to be deterred, he struck out Bogartz on a pitch that was 3 inches too low and should have been a ball. If he had called a ball, the Padres could have either tied or won the game.
I have been saying for years that MLB has more than eleventy bazillion statistics, but they all depend on correct decisions of balls v strikes by the home plate umpire. We saw this year in the All Stars game when they allowed challenges for this. We saw that all challenges against the umpire’s call were upheld.
MLB has the technology to track every pitch and even count the number of spins on the ball for each pitch, ffs. They should have automatic calls of strikes v balls. Again Padres were not good enough to go much further, but this game was won for the Cubs by the maggots.
As a Padres fan, I just curl up in a ball.
We had the NL West there for the taking, but no, we blew the chance as the Dodgers were stumbling. All this effort in trades and we keep coming up way short everytime.
Yep, they blew home games against Colorado, FFS.
If they had won them they could have at least had home ground advantage for the wild card game. Padres need a better manager and better batting coaches and trade away liabilities like Bogartz.
Actually thought the cubs were ripped a run on a video review in the 8th with a call at home base as well
