MMA: UFC 166 Velasquez v Cigano 3

I think we'll see a repeat of the second fight and Cain will run through him. Junior doesn't have the speed and cardio, Cain will put it on him.

Daniel Cormier will smash Roy Nelson and Gilbert Melendez should beat Deigo Sanchez as well.

On the under card that's about to start in just under an hour Geelong's George Sotiropolous is about to fight KJ Noons and "adopted Aussie" Hector Lombard will fight Nate Marquardt. Can't see either of them winning unfortunately, Noons striking is too good for Sots who is slow now and Hector just looked too drained after cutting to 170.

If the Facebook prelims are anything to go by should be a great event. 3 fights, 3 finished so far!

Full card:

Heavyweight Cain Velasquez (c) vs Junior Dos Santos       [a]

Heavyweight Daniel Cormier vs. Roy Nelson

Lightweight Gilbert Melendez vs. Diego Sanchez

Heavyweight Gabriel Gonzaga vs. Shawn Jordan

Flyweight John Dodson vs. Darrell Montague

Preliminary card (Fox Sports 1) Middleweight Tim Boetsch vs. C.B. Dollaway

Welterweight Nate Marquardt vs. Hector Lombard

Women's Bantamweight Sarah Kaufman vs. Jessica Eye

Lightweight George Sotiropoulos vs. KJ Noons

Melendez fight was awesome!

Melendez v Diego is the best fight I’ve seen. Wild.

Incredible card from top to bottom. Those Facebook prelims were sick as well.

Interesting debate happening on the Herald scum website regarding an article about trying to legalize cage fighting in victoria and get a UFC event down here.

Mainly agaisnt it are the "wont somebody thing of the children brigade" and those stating "it promotes street voilence"

The argument against makes no sense. The fighting is completely legal, they haven’t done ANYTHING to stop it, you just have to use a ring which makes it more dangerous. A couple f weeks ago someone fell out of the cage there and hit there head on a table - real safe!

Somehow, preventing this from happening makes it more dangerous to these idiot do gooders.

There are a lot more dangerous sports and sports that promote bad behaviour than UFC.

I was at that event. Absolute shambles.

Also the AFC just got runner up for best MMA promotion in australia-asia region. Yet they still fight in a ring. Somehow they attract the best talent to their promotion, which is shown by some of their fighters being selected for the up coming TUF series.
