Most Famous Person you have Met

Stood next to Anna Kournikova for a couple of minutes at the checkin desk at the airport. she was in a black one piece catsuit. Amazing.
I've never wished I was you until just now.

I had to go behind the scenes of the 2014 Brisbane International for work. Was a battle when I walked passed the players relax area. Most of the women players were walking around in bike shorts abd sports bras. Azarenka, Sharapove, Kerber were amongst them. Serena was there but not dressed down to that extent. Was hard to take but you know…work and all that.

I’ve met lots of sports people. Was briefly at Libby Trickett’s 21st. Had a few drinks with Andy Bichel and Kaspa. Met quite a few AFL, RL, RU and cricket players. Pollies and musicians as well.

My biggest one was Samuel L Jackson. The man just oozes cool and at that time was a very down to earth, decent bloke who was engaging really well with the people around him, including the staff.

Also, I’ve met Reboot

He was a passenger on many flights that I worked on as a Qantas steward. He came in 2nd. place to David Frost as the rudest, most difficult passenger I encountered in the 12 or so years that I did that job. Very different to Gough & Margaret, who were really easy going & quite talkative.

Pretty sure I remember Jim Cairns used to sit at the front of prahran market in the late 80s flogging an autobiography. Reckon I saw him there numerous times. Unless I’m confusing him with someone else?

Plenty of sportsman from AFL, cricket and soccer. Got to meet plenty like Chopper, Thommo etc at club sportsmans nights at my local club. Thanks to my youngest brother I’ve met Tendulkar a couple of times the week of the Adelaide test. As a kid my Nan used to live about 5 doors down from the Don and often we would walk down to the deli and stop and chat to him if he was out the front gardening, it wasn’t until we got a bit older that we realised how much of a legend he was. My Dad comes from the the motor sport industry and was friends with Brocky so obviously met him plenty of times. Overseas I’ve met several Manchester United players at Old Trafford and got a top signed by pretty much the whole squad at the time including SAF, Ronaldo, Giggs.
Was in Paris on a contiki tour the day of the 2006 CL final and went to a player fan day where I met a few Barca players such as Ronaldinho, van Bommel and Eto’o and President Joan Laporta who was one of the nicest blokes I’ve met. Chatted for about 5-10 minutes about soccer and then he shot off and a few minutes later came back with a couple of tickets for the final. Needless to say whilst the rest of our tour group went to the Moulin Rouge that night I was at the CL final.
Outside of sport I haven’t met anyone really famous unless you count sitting near Delta Goodrem at the SANFL or walking past George Clooney at the Monte Carlo casino

Pretty sure that’s right…although I didn’t remember it as Prahran.

Watched a doco the other day about Peter Cook. His wife had locked up his house shortly after his death in 1997, and has only recently allowed access to it. An absolute treasure trove of his work, thought lost, was found.

Peter Cook, who was voted as no.1 of 300 comedians, by the other UK comedians, had a grudge against David Frost because he thought Frost had stolen his shtick. Cook had also rescued Frost from drowning, an act he confessed to later regretting.

Yep mostly Prahan market, but also many others. Don’t know if he was short of a quid, but he kept pushing his socialist doctrine till he died.

Peter Cook was a rather strange man. (Dudley Moore on the other hand was a naturally funny person who was always very friendly, I could never see how the two managed to have a working relationship.)

God. He was a ■■■■■■■ and ate all my chips.

Mrs diggers just met Neil Finn. Neil Finn and the lesser known Seymour who she says was very nice.

You know, after reading all the comments in this forum- what a wonderfully eclectic bunch of people are a part of this great web family! It’s really cool to get a glimpse of the personality behind the avatar, and read/enjoy some of the great stories being shared.
And I really do think Deckham is 007.

Aceman is going alright, too.

Nah, just a life that revolves around sport and travel. Funny story but the night of my wedding, I left during the reception for about 2 hours and went to the pub across the road to watch United v West Ham live

Pretty sure that’s the life most of us would like.

It was a North London Derby on mine and I listened to a bit of it on the radio.

Kenny Dalglish, the Liverpool legend is probably as big as Ive met in personal internationally. Still got his signature somewhere.

Oh yeah I did cross streams with Phil Gould in fridays toilets in Brisbane following the dead rubber state of origin at Lang park.
I looked up, said “you’re Phil Gould” and he said “yes. yes I am” and promptly left. We have never seen each other since

And I want acemans life. Mines balls.

Spent time inside with Fred Cook. A very funny bugger.

Fred was a top bloke.
Knew him well when he had the Station Hotel in Port Melbourne.
